No doubt they spent wisely. But where was the uproar?
Ohio State spend the money wisely to get the most talented players that can play very cohesively.
Didn't they win the 1st BCS championship too? Was that the one vs Miami with the late PI flag?

I wonder how our football spending compares to OSU's?
Everything they did, is well within the rules nowadays. Also, the more popular schools can pay for / solicit the best talent and pay the most money, for them. For everyone else, it's going to be tougher than ever to breakthrough. Blue bloods, gonna blue blood.

We talk all this **** about more money than god, can't we just wallet whip a real quarterback? Enough of this potential bull***** Lets just buy one that is proven in real competition.
They also hired Chip Kelly who stepped down from HC at UCLA to be their OC, and they already had an elite DC. Good coaches make a big difference.
I bet we could win like that if only we had their Athletic Director!!

Tennessee won the first BCS title if I'm not mistaken in '99. Ohio St/Miami was more around '01/'02
I seem to remember a certain team in college station doing that too and it didnt work

Yeah, but really good QBs have plans for the NFL. If there is nobody to block for him and no top flight receivers to catch for him, it could hurt his draft status. Good players are going to continue to gather for the same top schools every year.
They spent their money on proven transfer portal players we spent it on 17 year olds

9 of 11 starters on Ohio State's defense are in their 4th or 5th year at Ohio State, so they recruited amazing out of high school too in many positions.Farmer_J said:
