good take a lot of times it is abkut just getting the opportunity. as an example that kid a few years back johnson who transferred to tech. could not sniff the field for us but developed into top 10 pick at texas tech. . josh morten could be drafted high as well after leaving us. all fo these kids have talent many times it's just landing in the right spot.

The run defense is woeful and nothing has been done to shore it up, but we are taking another player in a position group that is under utilized.

I guess I'll trust the process, but it sure seems odd.

He could not beat out the backup to Helm. He is a essentially a slow WR, since he can't block. He is unplayable at TE in the SEC.

Considering we had 2 before the transfers. Yes

Also a couple we picked up are mainly going to be used in short yardage run blocking situations.

DT and WR are the only needs reamaining.

From my understanding we weren't big on many DT that were in the portal and struck out woth the few we went after. But I'm not sure how many we actually went after.

Think prove D Green was more important than most outside the team understand (esp proves out that LSU snagged him as aware we didn't dollar value DG as high). This is a 'good prospect' on paper (yet fully unproven production), but a bit more athletic in routes and hands (not DG level, but hand forced...will be curious did we have to overpay and really could have kept DG).

Time will tell.

there were several top rated who either weren't interested, passed on A&M or had already secured other avenues. Do think we slow played trying to see who else will enter, but do think that it's become hindsight 20-20 on what we missed early (there were a solid 6-8 possibilities and landed 1).

List among your stats that in neighborhood football games you caught 4 passes for 37 yards and a TD two years go, and followed that with 7 passes for 90 yards this year and they will scoop you right up.

Could be but he was 1 of 3 TE to catch a pass this past season. None of us really know why he left. Maybe he was going to be 2 or 3 next year or maybe he wasn't happy with the way he was used.

Maybe d green didnt want to stay here, plus he had the injury and hadn't sniffed the field since

This guy has never been injured, just was playing behind one of the best te's in the country

You can't say that. The other guy not named Helm had 4 more catchesand 21 more yards. Neither had a TD and Amari had a better average.
