The hate for ewers from that fanbase is baffling. He's perfect for their scheme. Play elite defense and manage the offense.
He's been a pretty good college QB, and has done an awful lot to help that school get back to the upper ranks of college football. Also seems like a pretty decent guy too, from what you read.jt16 said:

Denial from the fact they barely squeaked buy a bad Clemson team and Arizona State beat them. If tOSU didn't shoot themselves in the foot repeatedly killing drives, it would have been the blowout everyone expected.
The best part of the game was showing the sip fan reactions when they didn't get their calls as usual. That would be an entertaining highlight reel.
Poor t-sips eating their own to feed their hubris.

It's sort of hard to dislike Ewers. Him telling Sawyers "screw you" and laughing with him after the game indicates he might have his head in the right place. That fanbase can fall into the sun tho…

Was thinking earlier that Ewers was not good, but the guy got the job done last 4 games.

Easy to blame Ewers bc they know he will not be there next year.
Easy to blame Sark bc his coaching is the reason the lost both playoffs games.
Myself, I like Ewers. Had to be hard to handle the Manning name behind you the last two years. I think he has a shot in the NFL. For a QB he shows qualities of team first that I do not see in many high profile QBs now a days. In the last two games he would go to his teammate after they made plays and patted them on the back.

No reason to think he will be when he could not win the job this year. He had multiple chances and could not pass up Ewers.
This was Ewers last year at Texas no matter what took place. So absolutely zero reason to not replace him if Manning was actually better than him.
Sure sippy is MAD. Their 2024 regular season and playoff schedules were so easy they know this was their year. Now they're going to need to pay Snakey even more.

How many times did tu put the ball on the turf last night? I recall early in the game when they fumbled a kick return right back into their hands it was going to cost them at some point.

Ewers usually good for 2-3 game breaking mistakes every game. Tried to give us the game, but we couldn't take it. That said, he played well enough to win and was the only reason they scored that 2nd TD last night.

I don't get it. They have been irrelevant since 2009 and Sark gets them to back to back CFPs starting in his 3rd year and they want to fire him already. Entitlement is strong in Austin.
Ewers is inconsistent. He can throw some money balls and then chunk it way high or in the dirt. He should transfer to another college for a big payday.

If you were of the mind to work within the system, you could conspicuously consume said drama, and convince ESPN et al. that there's a lot of money to be made in packaging & distributing sip tears.
If you were of the mind to challenge the system (since it consistently & materially works against the Aggies), you could conspicuously call out the ersatz drama, particularly how sip was not only boosted into this position, but also how their fans have become habituated to said boosting over the decades.
But in this case, both options amount to s*****ng on sip so /why not both?
