Why don't they just make it to where if your school goes to the playoffs, your scholarship funds for STEM college majors get extra money? That way the school benefits but it doesn't give the strong football programs more advantage.

Thing is, if the "top of the Big10 and SEC" consists of 8 teams, everyone else can say FU and form their own national league. No one is going to watch an 8 team circle jerk.

At least we get to play them again

They basically had that situation in the big 12+\- and few outside of Austin watched the network.

They couldn't succeed being mostly on their own when standing on the backs of 9-11 little helpers. Would anybody really give them attention if they went the route of Notre Dame?

I realize football would drive these negotiations but we need to throw our weight around more. We are one of the top 10 richest universities public or private in the country. We have more money than Michigan and the California University system. We are top 5 in largest alumni base.

Alabama is a middle school compared to us. We need to start acting like it.

What weight? A&M may have more alumni and more money, but Alabama's athletic program makes more than ours. They also have clout, which is brought by championships. The conference doesn't give a **** how much money a school has. It cares about how much money the school can make the conference. More people tune in to texas, Alabama, Georgia, etc, than to A&M.

Depends on the source. Several sites have A&M out earning everyone but OSU and sometimes Texas.

They have had 5 losing seasons in the last 20 years. They have better marketing, a lot better marketing than us.

They absolutely have better marketing than us. As to the 5 losing seasons, I would take those if I get their natty, another national champ game appearance, and another two playoff appearances in those same 20 years. Would you? Or just settle for constant 7,8 win seasons, but only a couple of losing ones?

No one is talking about all those playoff appearances for OU or other teams. Don't try to prop them for the sips as worth remembering to try and make your post stronger(they had one good win in the last two years). They have won once in my life time. That's it. And I'm old. With their resources, help from media and as everyone knows now corrupt officiating, it's amazing they have done so little with all those advantages. And of course they are trying to make the playing field uneven even more in their favor bc at the end that's how most of their winning has been done.
