Lack of holding calls is insane.

This had to be a decision from the top. Watching the bowls/playoffs and how many holding calls have you seen? Shoot. Watch any of our games.

Add this to the blatant lack of targeting calls against the teams that bring in the most $ and this is getting hard to watch. Especially when it possibly impacts the outcome of a playoff game.

Add in NIL and transfers and the league is on the verge of losing lots of fans. I used to look forward to football every weekend but it's quickly falling on my list of weekend activities. College football is quickly becoming no longer interesting.

Something has to change.

I agree. I have been laid up since Monday with my back so all I had to do was watch college games.
First is how the portal gutted so many teams and second was the inconsistency of officiating from game to game. Some never called a holding or PI or personal foul. Others would call a PI almost every third pass seemed like. And you're right.. hardly ever an offensive hold.

It's the minors for the NFL, but with the same favoritism being shown to certain teams like the treatment the Chiefs get practically every weekend!

I have been frustrated all season with the lack of holding calls-not just in A&M games. At a small college I played offensive line and defensive line in different years, and feel like I know what holding is-and isnt. And soooo much Holding goes uncalled. It is so pervasive, that it HAS to be some sort of directive from on high. Now the thing A&M has to do is adjust and teach their O-line to hold. The D-line needs to fight through holds, knowing they won't be called, and not flail around looking for a call.

The perspective of our defense was one of being thugs.
Refs probably struggled with throwing flags in our favor.
The non-thrown personal flags offset the non-thrown holding flags.
It I were reffing our games, I might've ejected #5 every game.

Refs could call holding on 99-100% of all plays. Just depends on if they want to. PI could be called on probably 80% of all passing plays. Just depends on if they want to. Targeting calls are at least reviewed and some of them are called according to the language in the rule book (whether you like the rule or not). Unless there is massive money on the line for the NCAA/ESPN of course. Then they go with the money call (as in the sip game).

Hire a jujitsu instructor to teach leverage and how to break out of holds (or arms if they don't let go). They will let go.

I think they probably want it broadly and those certain teams get the benefit of the doubt if a call will de-rail the big money tv games. It is entertainment, after all.

speaking of holding why is it never called if someone literally drags a ball carrier over the goal line. After the Bush push you could push a guy, but now you can grab them by the shoulder pads and drag them as long as their butt doesn't hit the ground. This happened in the ASU game, but I've seen it many times and I've never seen it called. Just dump the rule if you're not ever going to call it. Has anyone ever seen this get a 5 yd penalty?
