I'm not sure what your agenda is here but this is an idiotic statement to try and support it.

Are we supposed to believe they are going to come running to you and say "I made 10K on that HS playoff game last night!"

Just because you didn't know they did it doesn't mean a thing.

No need to approach it from this angle which invites controversy and negativity. I'd rather propose a professional and national group of college referees. Maybe affiliate with the NFL system somehow. Make it a coveted occupation with performance standards, high pay and benefits. Insist on correct calls and have a transparent progression system that rewards competence.

Would you be tempted to make calls to favor a team if were at risk of losing a $250,000 job for doing it? Maybe, maybe not.
This is what needs to happen.

Allowing fanferee's creates horrible calls and horrible no calls.

No one with any affiliation to a college should be allowed to referee that game.

It must be miserable going through life convinced that the officiating in the sport you love is rigged.

I think this comes from not really knowing the rules. I would suggest signing up to become a football official so that you can learn the rules of the game and learn to apply them equally to both teams.

I've know many refs at the high school and college level and have never known one who tried to bias a game one way or the other.
Many Ags would prefer to believe in a sip conspiracy than face the reality in front of them. They truly believe some sort of media overlord called the replay booth and said "don't call targeting."
It's similar to how people in trailer parks blame the lizard people running the deep state for their lots in life.

Not targeting, hit him in the chest with his shoulder pad.

But keep posting that play on every thread here on Texags so you can continue to be wrong.

Now this is targeting if you need a CLEAR example of targeting:

I expect the replay booth to get it right 100% of the time

It's not that replay doesn't get it right or wrong. It's that there is zero consistency on what is indisputable evidence on possession calls or what is a defenseless receiver or was it crown of the helmet etc, etc.
Replay makes it look like how the rules apply is based solely on the color of the jersey or the logo on the helmet most of the time.

Great article talking about officiating errors and philosophy on making calls. Most officials I know would rather have a no call be wrong than throw a flag and be wrong. The only exception are the safety fouls. I know our assigners agree with that.

https://247sports.com/article/how-many-calls-are-missed-in-a-college-football-game-big-ten-ref-dan-capron--143645515/amp/

Lol. That article says in average game, refs miss 4 calls. I would say it's more like 50 or 60. If they called every penalty, the game would be so boring because of constant play stoppages. There is someone holding on nearly every play, both on offense and defense. There is tons of uncalled PI. Most plays have something missed, but the game is actually better when they do ignore stuff that doesn't really matter.

For example with holding and many other calls, there has to be a clear advantage gained by the foul. Merely holding but not materially affecting the play would be an incorrect call if flagged for the reasons you mention. There needs to be a restriction, take down, turn, etc at the point of attack on a run or on a pass play, it needs to be on a rusher that has a good chance to get the sack. For double teams, unless the defender gets through it and is taken down, it is essentially never called.

There were easily 4-6 of those in every single A&M game this season that never got called on our opponents. It's one of the reasons conspiracy theories run wild on here. Our opponents literally did not have a single accepted holding penalty called against them after the first half of the Florida game which was Game 3. How can you explain that?

And you failed to notice how often our players did it and didn't get it called or do you legitimately think we don't hold except when it is called (and then you probably think it isn't holding a lot of the time).

I also love when people add the words accepted penalty. If a flag was thrown, the officials made the call. The decision to not accept was made by the HC. There were a couple I thought were holding that should have been called against our opponents but I also saw some key ones not called on our Ags.

Exactly

Until this was put on this thread no one was saying anything about the missed obvious one against ASU

Both were bad targeting non calls one just happened to favor Terxas and came at end of game instead of when Texas was up

Besides being idiotic, a tell on obvious lies is the ole

"I know a guy and he said"

Hey sip, maybe meet some real people out there that actually did things.

My fav is talking to baseball pitchers that were in the minors and maybe even made to the big leagues for a spell. They always loved talking about all the things they did to get an edge that was illegal. How they did it so they would not get caught.

No one was talking about it because it wasn't targeting.

Perhaps they were better coached?

Seriously, if you really think the officials are biased against us, quit watching. I would quit watching if I truly believed the game was rigged.

The game is rigged at times. Has been forever. I accept it. Still love the game.
