Know what the clear problem is with that argument this year? Oregon was undefeated and would have occupied the national championship game where it appears they now do not belong
Oregon wouldn't have had to play Ohio State twice if the BCS were still in place. Oregon beat Ohio State once, so they really shouldn't have had to play them again, especially since Ohio State didn't even make the Big Ten title game. If the BCS were still around, it would have been Oregon versus Georgia for the national title, which would have been a good matchup. The playoffs have significantly devalued the regular season, which is what made college football unique in comparison to the NFL.
