Refs called DPI on skattebos catch when he initiated the contact and pushed off with full extension, and then they had the opportunity to call targeting on ASU's game changing interception but did not… don't attribute to malice what can be attributed to incompetence. The problem with targeting is it is too subjective with too many variables to apparently be called consistently. The refs were bamboozled on this one because the defender did such a good job of keeping his head completely up, even though the hit was delivered square helmet to helmet.

Don't let anything get in the way of a good conspiracy though

ASU had the chance to win on 4th and 13 and didnt get it done. They were setup perfectly to win and blew it

1) Skattebo didn't push off anymore than he was held as he ran by the defender.
2) ASU player didn't have forcible contact to the player's head and neck on the interception play.
3) Competent refs shouldn't be "bamboozled" by a player keeping his head up during forcible contact to the head and neck - the definition is pretty clear vs a defenseless player, and doesn't include position of defender's head.

No flag was thrown. They automatically reviewed it.

The percentage of calls/no calls that benefit Texas are crazy. When they effect the outcomes of their games 3 out of their last 4 that is insane

The announcers said it was clearing targeting, the rules guy they have on said it was targeting, but the refs said while the freaking ASU was still injured due to the play on the field it was not. The play checked all the boxes for targeting: defenseless, helmet to helmet, led with his helmet

Unlike the belief of many on here, the NCAA does not receive money from the CFP, the FBS conferences and colleges do. The NCAA does run the FCS playoffs.



The CFP is organized by the FBS conferences and is heavily influenced by the conference commissioners who serve the conference members, but also try to satisfy the bowls.



When people want the NCAA to be done so something else can be in charge, they need to know that is already here with FBS Bowls and Playoffs.

Not once they fake it. Then all normal rules apply against the offense except for a few minor issues like OL numbering.

It has become so routine for tu to pull out a ref-assisted win that I told my son at the 6 minute mark tu would get a random call and win with no time left on a fg. The only part I missed was that bert would actually miss a field goal.

Helmet schools nearly always get the benefit of the doubt. And yes, Texas can be considered a helmet school.
Otherwise, Sankey and the SEC wouldn't have bent over so quickly.
