They just played until 8 sec on play clock when ASU is at goal line.. I thought they had to stop playing way before that.. on our game I remember announcer mentioning them playing until 14 sec then have to stop.. what is the rule ?

Don't know, but in both games they seem to play way too long and too close to the snap.

Most SEC bands seem to play right up to the snap. We rarely do, because the DJ is hard at work.

Compared to the PA systems now, you can barely hear the bands, anyways.

They always break the rule. Supposed to stop when the offense breaks the huddle. The rule needs to be enforced.

At least curtail the number of times they can play The Good, the Bad and The Ugly. Talk about annoying.

NCAA rule book says a band can't create a noise that prevents the players from hearing their signals.
It generally is interpreted as they have to stop when the center is over the ball. But the rule is rarely enforced, and they will usually get a warning before their team is assessed a 15-yard penalty. A rule that isn't enforced then becomes just a suggestion.

This. The rules book states you can't use artificial noise (not sure how Miss State gets around this w cow bells). This is usually enforced when the team gets to the line

They only enforce the rules supporting their agenda. Rules also state no artificial noise makers yet Mississippi State is allowed to use them. Again no consistency.

During our game they played past the snap multiple times and almost always past 10 seconds. Really poor BS and the white hat head official should have said something to their band leader. Someone on our staff or Reed as QB should have said something to the head official.

That's true but cow never got a warning and played past the snap multiple time.

At State they have reigned that in pretty good, it pretty much stops at 10 seconds on the play clock.
