Penn state utterly dismantled two teams that "earned" a playoff spot. This is bull crap. And the worst part is that Penn state is 3rd in their conference.
I like the expanded playoffs when there was some illusion of a power 5. There needed to be a system that allowed all 5 a chance to compete.
But now it's a power 2, similar to the AFC and NFC. Any illusion that we can't possibly determine the best two teams in the nation has vanished right at the time that we are allowing more teams to compete.
Solution: let the B1G determine their champion. Let the SEC determine theirs. Play the two against each other.
The rest of the leagues can play each other in meaningless bowls just like they do now.
