Bielema has done a very good job with that program. They were garbage when he took over.

You're not a winning a national championship with a bunch of two and three star players. See TCU against Georgia a couple years ago.

You guys put too much stock in a bowl game where both teams are not full strength, most players are not giving their 100%, and then add on that a month layoff.
Also went 5-7, 8-5, and 5-7.
Same players who look well coached this year didn't last year. Funny how experienced players with multiple years in a system all of the sudden look better coached

Umm, let's just focus on winning more than 8 games. National Championships are a little out of reach right now.
No superstars on that team but a 10-3 record and they beat a team that kicked us out of the stadium. LOL
That Illinois team would have done just fine in the SEC.
Do you see the thread topic? Coaching not necessarily players. He's doing more with less.
And yet…when he played our type of schedule…his results were not so stellar (29-34), 11-29 in conference over 5 years.
Hopefully, Illinois extends his contract based upon one 10 win season

It's not an apples to apples comparison. He had the Arkansas recruiting pool versus the one he has in the upper Midwest. In other words, he was scraping the bottom of what the rest of the SEC didn't want. You might be right if every school had the entire nation as a recruiting pool.

I remember hearing something about whisky not wanting to pony up for assistants, but Arkansas is not a place in the sec you can have sustained success
Just too many other sec programs that are better options for players to the point where ark will always be a bottom half of the sec roster

Arkansas should be better than they are. I wonder if they just have bad leadership and meddlesome boosters. At one point, it looked like they had turned a corner under Bielema, and then they completely collapsed.

It's humorous to see posts talking about how much more difficult it is to play an SEC schedule when two 9-3 SEC teams were beaten by B10 teams today. As for Bielema, he had a good team this year and I really like that running formation that had SEC on their heels. But he's not the type of coach we're looking for.
Cause bowl games are a true representation of what teams were in the regular season. Get real and understand what bowl games are now, backups trying to impress a coaching staff going into next year.

The job he's doing at Illinois has nothing to do with Arkansas's performance. Apples to oranges.

That same coach was kind of known for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory tho at Arky.
Not as dumb as our program.
