You'd think a university president would look at the data in this thread and say "let's fix this".

If you judge by this thread, surely no one can rival us in the number of self-loathing, losers who sit in the corner and watch their significant other get plugged.

Maybe Oregon just in terms of national championships since they have never won it all. But obviously they are program on the rise with Nike money and recent success. Still fewer conference championships than A&M though.

Think of any mid-tier P4 team that you can't imagine winning the championship. Purdue, Michigan State, NC State, etc. That's who we are.

"Tech has the #1 transfer portal class in the nation for 2025. Their lax academic standards make it a magnet for football players looking to transfer, and athletes looking for easy academic credits."

This is easily the dumbest thing said on this thread. Some of you think that A&M is Harvard. Football players have to make the same standard here as tech or any state school.

We've got Bama resources with Vandy results.

At some point you need to give up on football and see if we might be able to sneak a title in baseball or basketball. We came frustratedly close last year

It's an interesting question. I'd probably put South Carolina and North Carolina as examples, though neither has quite funds A&M has. UNC has a lot of cash, but basketball will always get #1 billing. South Carolina has an incredibly rabid fan base dying to win big, but never has really threatened to win it all nor do they have A&M financial backing.

Saw Georgia Tech mentioned earlier, they probably are the reverse outlier. Top academic school, small enrollment size and small fan base. But yet has 4 National Championships, most recent in 1990. Even has 5 SEC football titles before they left to go independent in 1964 in what must be viewed as one the dumbest athletic decisions in the history of sports today (leaving the SEC). GT does not have the resources financially to compete with 10+ wins per year but usually has decent success 25% of seasons.

I am not sure Purdue really has ever had much national success in football and does not have A&M money.

Ultimately, the answer is probably no - schools with big fan bases, incredible financial resources, top facilities, and no major success the past 75 years.
