Always the same, every year

Shut it down - donot let the talks fool you

They donot deserve our energy, passion and time … nor the ticket price

Hard habit to break. But they broke me as far as money. Soon, will break me as far as interest.

I've been banging my head against this brick wall for 25 years, and nothing has changed.

I finally concluded that nothing will ever change.

Happened to me with the cowboys 10 years ago. It's was a gradual process at first but within 2 years I wasn't even checking the scores anymore. Hate to think about Aggie football that way, but I'm definitely to the point it's not worth the money. Late night antics like that will lead to it not being worth the time either.

Until the fan base votes with their wallet and feet, nothing will change. Like it or not, we have to stop treating Saturdays at Kyle Field as college football's equivalent of "Field of Dreams. Unfortunately, most Ags are afraid of being labeled as a bad Ag or a 2%er. So, we remain the proverbial "definition of insanity."

55 years of following the Ags for me. You are right. Until we stop donating and stop showing up, nothing will change. We are too concerned with atmosphere, watching the freshman CT chase the yell boys to do what is necessary for meaningful change.

I may be more advanced than most. I quit this program about five years ago. I don't waste one minute of my time watching them. I was even invited to two games this year where the ticket was provided. I said, "no thanks."

If we win, I'll spend 15 minutes the next day watching the highlights. If we lose, which is typical, I spend no time whatsoever. I do have to admit I'm drawn to TexAgs like a car accident after a loss. There's just something so entertaining about watching grown men get their hopes up year after year only to be left greatly disappointed and gnashing teeth.

I'll watch again once the problems are fixed. What are the problems? Who knows.

Until then, be content being "the best 5-loss team in the country."

I stopped caring several years ago. It's a liberating experience....y'all should try it.

In fact, I had no idea the bowl game was yesterday. Was reading the news this morning and saw we lost the bowl game. So I immediately came here for the meltdown entertainment.

Aggie Baseball is where it's at folks.

I turned the game off before halftime. I've watched enough Aggie football for 40 years to know the inevitable script. Checked final score and was completely unsurprised.

The ticket price far outweighs the quality of the product on the field. You would think the program has won multiple nattys. Some people say it's the most loyal fanbase but others might say it's the dumbest.

Agree. Cut prices / funding and we still get an 8-4 result.

We pay premium prices for mid results. If this school was a company it would have gone bankrupt 25 yrs ago

The problem is the "experience" is the environment created by the fans and not the product on the field.

A family member worked for another B12 athletic program in the late 90's and 2000's. He said every other associated he worked with at other schools all wondered HTF A&M did so little with so much. Sleeping giant being held down by some weird invisible strings and no one knew what it was.

He knew I cared about A&M and watched every game when/if it was on TV or listed on the radio/internet. Frequently would talk about it and sports in general.

3 seasons ago after another pathetic lose to a bad team, he asked about the football team and I was all "A&M losed, whatever". He was a bit taken aback that I obviously didn't care any more.

I watch the games, smile when we win, rolls my eyes when we lose and go about my life. I don't even care any more. We'll never win a MNC in my lifetime b/c the forces working behind the scenes that fund athletics at the top level may be good at making money, but it's pretty obvious they absolutely suck at spending it. I think it was the Jimbo extension that made me realize there are complete idiots running the football program behind the scenes.

Eff that, I am a 2% because I will not accept the rainbows, sunshine and unicorns. If we are not supposed to lie cheat or steal seems like we should start by not lying to ourselves, allowing the football program from cheating us of our limited valuable time and stealing our money by charging an arm and a leg for sh*tty program year in and year out.

I will embrace my 2% label but I am following the motto of not lying, cheating or stealing.

Yeah I stopped carrying after 30/years during the 2021 season. I could no longer take the toll the Aggie football product was taking on my health. I went to bed last night after A&M went up 14/7 and was not shocked at all over the final score.

This team will always be eternally young and talented every off season but will finish 8-5 every December. We are a mid-tier college sports program with a billion dollar investment. Eventually, A&M will run out of the money, and it will tank.

It's the return on investment that sucks. We spend our $ on bright shiny objects (stadium, weight room, practice fields, inferior coaches and players, etc...) instead of spending it on the stuff that matters vis-a-vis winning championships

Oh, no, I get it, you're one of the people who revel in the dumpster fire that this board becomes when we lose. There's no need to say anything else. Being smug and telling everyone how much you don't care is fun, I know.

Wife and I are former students, had season tickets for 10 years and never missed a game.
I've been losing my faith in this mediocre program for many years as you might have noticed from my posts. I'm a pot banger. I didn't watch a minute of that game last night. In fact I still haven't. I just don't care to watch piss poor football by a team of underachievers. It's not fun. You guys that stick it out that's your choice. I'd rather find things to do with my time that's enjoyable and brings me happiness not constant misery and disappointment, It's just not fun anymore.

Which is why A&M needs to divorce the football program. There is no reason for this disconnect to continue; colleges and universities should end this relationship.

Like I said the meltdown is quite an event to behold. People get angry and then in a week come to the conclusion that the poor performance was anomalous and then convince themselves that next week/month/year will be different. It's the definition of insanity. I've come to a peace about the football program and share based on that. I think the more people tune out the program the sooner you'll see the changes we all want to see. Smug? I'm not smug. I dutifully watched for years before I tuned out. I respect anyone else's decision the continue watching. It matters not a whit to me.

As far as showing up to gloat, or be smug, I wish I could quit this sight. I frequent the classifieds, outdoor, H&F, and Business and Investment boards. When push comes to shove, it's too easy to tune into the zoo to witness the meltdown.

Whatever you decide, Happy New Year to you.

It's definitely going the same way as the Cowboys. I still watch but expect failure. I care less and less each strain. It's almost comical to see the rise and ultimate choke job. Used to never miss watching a game and tried to go at least once a year. I didn't go this year and don't really care if I miss on TV. I guess it never mattered. My only hope is I had given up on the Rangers too and it finally happened.

Oooooh! What a sick burn!!

I love it when a guy who never attended our school talks donation smack to a graduate that spent at least 4 years of tuition, room and board, and a crap ton of other expenses paid directly to the University. In addition to possible donations that are none of your business.

I always stay until the end of games and even stayed at 77-0 until the clock ran down.

This season I actually left the Bowling Green game after the 3rd and enjoyed Northgate with friends. Not sure I'll ever completely lose interest but it's become much easier just stop caring when I see the same pathetic coaching and effort game after game.
