I think we were lazy because we knew Elko was there and he was a comfortable hire. But what do you expect when you let an AD that extended Fisher, gave him a raise then fired him conduct the search while he, himself, was headed out the door? Just lazy!

We tried to hire Mark effing Stoops and that BLEW UP!

At that point in our search, I don't think there was anybody but Elko and we had to work to get him here.

We massively screwed up on the Jimbo issue if Elko was our best possibility AND hadn't even had him lined up waiting and wanting the position

Bjork was the one who wanted to hire Stoops, which was apparently plan A, B, and C. Only when word got out did it blow up, and the failing to have a legit alternate plan in place resulted in Elko.

I'm not out on Elko. I am out on Bateman, who though an Elko hire, was made quickly due to what likely were limited options at the time. We'll see if Elko can/will right this mistake.
