So every 1st down fake an injury. Free timeouts.

They can buy their way out of it with a team timeout, so I don't think it would have mattered (USC had one left, I believe). However, I do think they did miss this for whatever reason.

Never mind; reread the rule. No runoff.

Yep, they did. Play stopped to move the chains.

"If a player injury occurs on a play where there is a temporary stoppage of the clock for a first down, and the clock is stopped with 10 seconds or less remaining in the 2nd or 4th quarters, the opponent has the option of a 10-second runoff"

10s runoff is only if the team with the injury has no TO's remaining IIRC.

Wouldn't make a difference in terms of time to operate, but definitely limits the playbook when you get first and goal with no timeouts left.

yes but that's because they're supposed to charge you a TO. They didn't.

The clock stops under two minutes only to move the chains. They should have been charged a timeout. They weren't. That extra timeout was of consequence.
No?

The sad part is the injury gave our defense a chance to rest and they still sh*t the bed as bad as you can sh*t the bed.

No, that entire drive was one player ****ting the bed. Literally same guy gave up every pass. Should have been pulled for literally anyone.

**** rule, the clock starts when the chains are set! So fake an injury like kiffin after a first down to save timeouts. Got it, should be in the playbook for next year!
