Wacthing the embarassment of the 1st round of games, it is a bit inspiring for next year. Even as we took a few steps back during the last 3 end of season games, that same team would have been extremely competitive against any of those teams IMO. You can take the sip game as some evidence.

If this team had kept on it trajectory 2/3 into the season, we would have made the CFP even in a loss to sip.

Sure hope the staff identified whatever the hell created the drop off. Felt like some of the players either got cocky or the team was downright worn out.

Thoughts?

Either way, excited about what Elko is bringing to Aggieland. And that comes with realistic expectations for me. CFP by 2026.

1. the injury to Moss

2. the incompetence of the LSU coaching staff

With what we return vs how many of our opponents are completely rebuilding in 2025, if we go 7-5 or 8-4 in 2025 odds are extremely high we will have a new coach in 23.5 months from now.

The "8&4" thing is the lamest addition to TA jargon in a very long time. We're copying the inbreds from tigerdroppings now?

I honestly appreciate that some on here have optimism about our football program.

But, over the last 50 years, we've averaged 8.13 wins per year.
Over the last 20 years, we've averaged 7.47 wins a season.
Over the last 10 years, we've averaged 8.2 wins a season.
Over the last 5 years, we've averaged 7.8 wins a season. (All per ChatGPT)

The last several years, there have been at least 3 schools in the SEC conference have out-recruited us. I haven't seen anything in terms of outstanding coaching or players that will change our trajectory. I'd bet we're on schedule for another 7-9 win season next year, but most likely 7-8 wins. We still have a lot of holes…

Another year down, another year of "if we'd only won all our games we'd be the bestest". I'm so tired of Aggie football this long into my life.

Keep it coming. So many sides to this. Some of which will NEVER be content.

USCe makes it if the refs don't screw them against LSU.
Ole Miss makes it if they don't screw up against Kentucky.
Miami makes it if they don't lose to Georgia Tech.
Iowa State makes it if they beat ASU.
UNLV makes it if they beat Boise.

What irritates me though is Tennessee played as poorly as SMU and Indiana and nobody's hardly harping on them just the other two teams, that's bull***** Just because Tennessee is in the SEC doesn't mean they shouldn't get the criticism too. People are being very hypocritical over this.

If you criticize Indiana and SMU saying they shouldn't of been there well by the score, Tennessee shouldn't of either.

Annie, were you on the TN game thread? Because several people were making fun of them and the posters who thought their game would not suck just because they were playing in it (as compared to the 1st 2 games that day).
