Will the game be shown if you have the ESPN+ Disney bundle? I cannot see it listed but it's an ESPN game.

i thought espn+ is not ESPN

The game is on the main ESPN network. If you can watch that, then you are good to go.

If all you have is ESPN+, then you will not be able to see the game. ESPN+ just gives you access to watch stuff that isn't carried on the networks, mostly lesser sports that don't have big viewership.

Did you get the Disney bundle that has Hulu live?

Seriously, this has been gone through thousands of times since that POS espn+ system was created, but there really needs to be a stickied thread at the top of every sports board on here that addresses this issue.

Not an issue with the OP, as it's a legit question, but it would help a lot if Texags would put a "how to watch games on espn+ vs espn, they are NOT the same thing" thread for reference. It would prevent hundreds of these threads every year asking the same thing. Espn+ is garbage across the board, but the naming process and such has been a disaster when it comes to expectations by the user in terms of what you actually get to watch.

No offense, but if you could pay $16.99/month and have access to all ESPN channels, why would YouTubeTV, Fubo, cable TV, etc. exist?

Nothing you want to watch is on that network, unless you pay for a real tv service that includes real espn. But if you want to watch soccer and Afghani chess matches, espn+ is the service for you.

I agree with the OP. TV today sucks. Oh, you can't watch that because it streams on Paramount. So you get Paramount and watch a show or two and then realize the rest of the crap you want to watch isn't on Paramount you have to have Paramount +, so you get that. Well crap that doesn't cover what you want because it is Paramount + with the Showtime add on. It is a constant upgrade this or that to get the crap you want to watch.

You tube pirate broadcast is how I watch most ESPN content that is not available on on ESPN+

ESPN+ is great for watching college football, basketball, baseball, softball, NHL and a bunch of other things.

My question is how do you even find a TV package without ESPN?

A lot of people get espn+ thinking it includes regular espn channels and programming, who don't watch regular tv with tv packages. It sounds like a good shortcut to avoid spending a lot more for things you don't want, but in the end all it does is piss people off.

My question about the game is: is there some channel carrying it that will show it hours before the ridiculously late for me 10:30 Eastern kick time?

I've had ESPN+since it launched and a lot of regular content is simulcast but it's not a substitute.

ESPN is the only one you hear that holds out on their rate with them though bc they know they can get what they like bc they need ESPN.

Yes TV today sucks. Everything is going to streaming services and the networks and distributers know it. The cable companies are now focusing on Internet. Most of the old cable boxes (some of y'all still have), aren't really being made anymore, therefore you get this small box with no COAX cable. Just a streaming service to your TV.

My advice is get a roku. Most networks have apps for that. I know they have ESPN, spectrum, etc. Looking at the ESPN APP now, has the game listed as upcoming.

Go get a roku, sign up for a trail for ESPN.

True. I wasn't able to watch 2 of the 1st round playoff games last week because Fubo doesn't carry Warner Brothers Discovery channels (TNT, TBS, CNN).

With that said, I wouildn't pay for a stand alone streaming service for those channels. I would, however, pay for ESPN even if only for 1 month stints. $16.99 a month, to me, seems reasonable for an ESPN package with Disney being the "add-on". ESPN charges cable companies $9.42 per subscriber per month, so, at face value, it appears that ESPN is losing money by not providing direct-to-consumer options for their main channel. Good news for sports fans is that ESPN Flagship is set to debut Fall 2025.

while helpful, you need a media service that supplies ESPN not just an app. ESPN+ isn't adequate either. And it isn't broadcast over the air, either.

Legally licensed Streaming choices are DirecTV Stream, Sling with Orange (which might offer a trial), YouTube TV (which offers either a seven day trial to the public or 21-day to YouTube Premium subscribers), Fubo, Hulu TV Live.

My YTTV trial (currently on Spectrum) ends today and I'm staying with Spectrum mostly due to Mavs games on KFAA not being in YTTV.

You have to get a trial of a cable/satellite/streaming cable service

I just signed up for 30 days of SlingTV Orange, $23 for 30 days then goes up to 46. I put a calendar reminder to cancel on day 29. Has ESPN, will get me through the college playoffs too.

Went with Sling Orange.
