Interested to see what people think we still need out of the portal.

My list in order of need.
1) DT - 320+ kind of guy
2) OT - preferably someone good enough to take RT
3) DT - another big DT
4) WR - not a depth piece, good enough to start only
5) NB - doubt an Antonio Johnson type is available, but converted corners are a real problem in run defense

Otherwise I don't see any reason to pick up guys who aren't real difference makers. Most of the roster is pretty solid. I wanted a QB to push Marcel but that is not in the cards apparently.

Don't really care after that and I'm tempted to say move the 2nd DT in front of the WR.

I'd love a Antonio Johnson NB but it doesn't sound like that's the direction we're headed.

100% yes if Santa has room for a nose guard on his slay. But also wondered if someone else saw holes in the roster I don't.

This is pretty much the list. I could see us taking a LB if the right one comes available. Lots of 1st and 2nd year LBs we wanted have already transferred out of other programs and we never showed any interest in the portal for them, so it appears only a proven commodity would be worth pursuing.

Two 320# DTs immovable anchors (330# preferred)
Two 6ft 6inch to 6ft 8inch OTs, 320# with long arms, and nimble footed, and plays with a mean streak.

Yeah. Its mind boggling to think that dudes 6-4 or 275# are considered "too small" at these positions tgese days.

Seriously doubt we grab 2 OT, we may not even grab 1. I've only heard 2 names at OT and one went somewhere he can have a clear path to starting. The other is the Rice OT and last I heard was the visit went well but who knows.

I think we still need a rb who is a bruiser type that has experience . Doesn't need to be an every down back like Moss, but a similar running style. We have no clue if Moss will be back to old Moss given our history with injured players here. I'm not sure if there are any available

Don't even think nickel is on the radar. OT is likely only if we lose someone. RB may be re-evaluated after spring ball.

In general, texags is very different than the coaches big board. DT and WR are by far the biggest needs from the coaches perspectives right now.

I wonder if the staff views Regis as a NT (1Tech) to start along side Hicks (DT, 3Tech) or Regis and Hicks rotating at the 3Tech.

Regis should be pushing 320 by the opener.

Is Green 100%?

Plus we really need at least 3 experienced pass catching TE and 3 Blocking TE. Ideally you get a blend of the 2 but that's rare.

2 - DTs are a must (that are good enough to be 2 deep, but will be guaranteed 3 deep) and an experienced WR that's 1st string caliber (preferably someone who can take the top off the defense, but fine w an too notch slot).

Rest is gravy or icing on the cake or foam in a beer..whatever floats one's boat.

Probably dumb...but, I'd like a stout/heavier than most RB for 3rd or 4th and 1 situations. Guaranteed short yardage, no matter the down. A 'bowling ball'...push the pile...dare ya to take me head on type.

I sure wouldn't turn my nose up at a couple of quality linebackers. Apart from Cooper, it's been a decade since we've had a true difference maker there. Our physical run support presence has been weak in recent years, especially once a ball carrier gets to the edge.

We're not taking OL, we returned all our starters, the best you can hope for is to NIL TJ to come back and I doubt that happens. We're super deep / talented on interior.

We need 1-2 DT, and we need at least 2 more WR (most likely SR / JR mixture)

We don't need 2 WR. We currently have 9 and the additions we've made definitely improve our talent. Add 1 productive WR and we are set.

That would give us 4 with real action in games.
