We all are aware of this, but have you noticed more than half the defense does it after 2nd down? Is this a new thing or can we just assume the players don't know the down?

I like the slash throat from the 2nd string DB when his team is down by 40.

I always enjoy the defender getting up and flexing after tackling a guy 30 yards downfield following a big play for the offense
The first down dance when you come up 3 yards short.

growing up as a kid i always liked barry sanders. just because it was so unique to not call attention to yourself but to celebrate with the team. best rb of all time would score a td turn hand the ball to the ref and jog off the field.
Barry Sanders is a class guy and the best running back to ever play the game! I grew up watching Barry break ankles and like you said, just hand the ball to the ref after a touchdown.Detmersdislocatedshoulder said:

Dustin Harris was notorious for committing blatant PI and jumping up and signaling incomplete with his arms while the official threw the flag. Like clockwork multiple times per game.
