Strange to see Dealyn Evans listed as a DT. Isn't he already Elko's preferred size/weight for playing DE? Does the staff see him at DT long term?

Apparently he's always been a DT.

I for one look forward to the guaranteed NC next year due to our amazing recruiting and portal work…

Why? They improved our WR room significantly only position group that truly need attention now is DL. Although a true receiving threat at TE would be a nice addition it's not absolutely necessary.

We got our needs at QB, TE, and WR covered.

TE and WR definitely been addressed. We're not good enough at all the other positions on both sides either though. DL is probably fine. So help needed at LB, DB, and OL. and QB1.

Pretty solid roster for a Bowl game vs a decent USC squad, plus an experienced QB. Should be a comfortable win.

Obvious needs for next year will be an explosive RB to compliment Moss, OL to get bigger and stronger, a couple massive anchors at DT, a couple of freaky sideline-to-sideline LBs. Yeah, alot to ask for, but if 11-1 or 10-2 are the goals, then ya gotta get those All-SEC type players in spades. One-deep stuff doesn't get it done. SCarolina and Texas really exposed the Aggies.

Who is doing a bad job out of the SEC in the portal? All of our major competitors are doing pretty good too. It's just keeping up with the joneses.

We are 41.91 and ranked #5 in the SEC. Of the teams above us only LSU has an average rating better than us.

So to naswer your question several teams aren't doing great in the poertal.

We have a long way to go with the Portal, but we aren't even close to calling it a success yet. The QB and DE guys are little more than older bodies. Neither are difference makers. I was hoping for a legit upperclassman QB. We need another explosive WR. We need a lot of help at LB and DL especially DE. I'd love to get another stud RB while we're at it and an SEC caliber starter on the OL.

Pretty much 0% chance of getting the LB, QB, OL, or RB you want. Even DL and DE will be tough not as bad as the others. We may be able to grab a very good 5 technique.

Those type player are looking for guarantees. We can't and shouldn't offer.

I wouldn't mind an upgrade at LB but we have numbers and returning starters.

Our biggest needs have been/ are WR, TE, entire DL, and an experienced QB to backup Reed. We've done well there except for DL but it's early and I'm sure we will see more enter soon.

I guess if you can't get, coach, and keep your own recruits, you might as well roll the dice on players someone else didn't want to keep.

Id just like to see some nice DL additions, someone to disrupt opposing Os.

We need a battering ram rb. A 5th year Sr or grad transfer with a mean streak who can push forward 1.5 yards on third or fourth down.

Yea I have to agree. I'm pleasantly surprised by Elko and his staff with how they've recruited. They've done a really nice job.

Plus very few have opted out from the playoff teams. There'll be more…….

Maybe what you are saying is we need a 235 + lb rb and I wouldn't disagree with that but if there's any kind of hole Moss generally gets positive yards

Yep. He had one of the highest % of short yardage success rates in the entire SEC and I think NCAA as well.

We're only doing well enough to keep our head above water. We're not distancing ourselves from the middle of the pack SEC, much less building a roster comparable to Georgia, Bama, Texas, etc. It's just a fact.

The run defense and QB pressure defense next year is going to be very bad.

Bottom line, thus far, we are missing on the top rated DEs and DTs (don't care what 247 states)....LSU, Ole Miss, other in SEC are getting the players with true playing experience, size, speed for depth, etc.

Some weren't interested, but the few that that were highly rated that came thru didn't pick A&M for whatever the reason.

We haven't had any of the top 5-8 DTs come thru either and that's a need regardless.
