Already feels like christmas with 4 playoff games over the next 24 hours… Now imagine 8 playoff games this weekend.

Surely they won't give the top 2 seeded teams byes in a scenario where they expand the field.

There will still be 2 byes in next expansion. The conferences that are in charge want their champions protected and for that CCG to still mean something.

I guess that would be 6 games on opening weekend then (since would be 14 team playoff in your scenario). I still can't imagine giving 2 teams a bye while the other 12 teams have to play and get injured.

It would make sense for those 2 teams to get home games in the 2nd round, then.

If you prefer watching 8 blowouts instead of 4, I guess it's something to be excited about?

The NFL says hello

I hope it goes to 16 and both first rounds are home games. Going to neutral sights is fine for the final 3 games. I would rather it just be the final game, similar to the NFL but doubt they can make that big of a jump.

NFL playoffs have blowouts too

All playoffs have blowouts

At least with an expanded field you'll get more sec teams in and create some better matchups

You'll always have some blowouts but that's the nature of football and sports in general

I guess the alternative can be more bowl games with gutted rosters and even more blowouts and virtually meaningless football.

I'd take a lot of runaway games that aren't at all competitive just to see one upset at that level.

If Boise State could get to the natty, it would be amazing. If Arizona State beat the sickos from Austin, I'd be overjoyed. Let's just have a chance to see an upset with those outcomes on the line.

Everyone in the playoffs, double elimination. Season long playoffs. Once you get to 16 teams left, put some skin in the game. Losing players lose their scholarship (have to pay half themselves) and forfeit half their NIL. Losing coaches forfeit half their salary.

The benefit of a 16 team playoff is creating parity over time. Eventually it will deliver better playoff matchups.

The idea that a four teamplayoff or a BCS style ranking is legitimate sportsmanship is laughable. This ain't gymnastics or ice-skating.

A bigger playoff system is better for the sport in every way.
