A good thing about being one of the most valuable athletic departments is I hope it means we never put corporate logos on and sports playing surface, mainly Kyle Field. Only School and conference logos belong on the playing surface. Other schools have resorted to selling add space on the field (Arky and Tennessee that I have seen). There are plenty of video / ribbon boards with ads splattered all over them all over the rest of the stadium, keep it off the field of play, looks trashy. This isn't Nascar.

Private equity will only succeed if they think like Cuban when he sold Broadcom and bought the Mavs. But the Mavs are only 12th in value in the fictional rankings. So it is r a great play for them.

Well, we all knew money wasn't the issue.

And, we can definitively say it's not the Jimmys and Joes, like we used to say when we were floundering in the Big 12, as we have not had a recruiting class ranked out of the top ten since joining the SEC.

So, maybe it's the coaches.

Let's see, we tried stealing a blue blood's coach who elevated TCU from the depths and would have taken Bama to the SEC championship game in his second year if not for their ineligibility. We then went with a somewhat successful NFL coach - whose most important quality, maybe, was "he gets Aggieland." Having still not met with success, we tried a young up and comer who had 2 seasons of 10 or more wins in four years at lowly Houston. He didn't work out, so after three futile coaches we went all in (like we did with Jackie) and stole one of four active (at that time) national championship winning coaches from prestigious Florida State.

That's quite a sample of coaches who, to some degree or other, had success prior to coaching the Ags.

So, it can't be the coaching. And it's not the players. Nor the money.


Which leads me to believe, as so many of y'all have been griping about,

It is indeed the Yell Leaders.


Once we kick their butts to the curb we will win, and win big.

Since the BMAs have built the most underachieving college football program in the country over the last 25+ years, I think I could get behind some private investors buying 51% of the athletic department. Maybe they could get the football program to finally play up to the level of resources that are available, and finally meet expectations.

I have seen the cowboys play in 4 Super Bowls. I have seen A&M win a conference once. Which was around the same timeframe you consider ancient history. Maybe you are correct.
