Since our biggest needs have turned to the DL let's start doscussing who we know are visiting and who we want to visit.

I know Will Heldt (Edge) has or will be visiting and same for Nico Davillier (Edge)

For how absolutely miserable Purdue was this year, the amount of interest nationwide in their transfers makes me question the actual depth of the portal. Yes, there is elite talent at the top but I feel once you get past the first few at each position you're just roster filling

Where did the Wisc DL James Thompson go?

Are we chasing Silver or Blay? They are better than the Purdue guy.

At this point, would be better to recruit back a couple DL/DE back as they are higher rated than some of the names we ate talking too.

The guys leaving have done nothing to warrant their ratings. It's not like they are true freshman leaving they have both been here multiple years and have not seen the field or done much when they have.

He wasn't impressive to watch, but whatever the coaches can scramble to do after a couple misses. DL depth will be an issue next year, but we shall see how it unfolds.

Apparently USCe believes GBD is good enough to add to their DL room and he gets to play at Kyle one more time next year. I'm sure we weren't willing to pay or something.

If he is our main get I won't be happy but if he's 2nd or 3rd as a true depth peice I will be ok with it.

I think we will land better so I'm not too concerned yet.

It's still early and there are plenty of good ones left. There are always names that aren't floated that we end up with.

But until we start landing a couple i too am a little concerned.

The portal closes December 28th. I believe players that are in the CFP can enter their names after their games end, correct? Even if that game is after December 28th?

I think they have 3 days. Also, you don't have to be out of the portal by the deadline, you just have to get in by the school's transfer deadline and enrolled in classes to begin practicing with the team.

I imagine the deadline is very loose for athletes, especially football.

I feel like it has been forever since I heard about a JUCO transfer. I guess that got almost completely killed with the new portal rules.

Pretty much spot on.

The graphics stuff created does make it look like a transfer commit is a Marvel Super Hero of some sorts. lol

IMHO we need to improve across the DL and at both LB spots. However, I trust Elko 100000% on getting the defense fixed and the # and type of players he wants on defense. So whatever their plan is for the defense, I am on board. I know he wants and covets a dominant DL and big fast sideline to sideline LBs.

Another one off the list. It is a little concerning we havent landed any yet but I'm going to wait and pass judgement when the dust settles.

There could be names that the coaches are just waiting on them to enter or we could be completely whiffing. No one on here truly knows. But I'm sure a certain group will act like they do.

I agree. Heldt was the only name that excited me but oh well. Hopefully we land one soon.

Although Gusta and the FSU edge are interesting. I don't know a lot about them.

I know nothing about McCray, but I will say that I respect that he played in his bowl game even when he knew he was going into the portal. Shows that he wants to finish the season with the team, and is willing to risk injury that would affect his transfer prospects to do so.
