This. Basketball guys are getting paid, but I can see the pretentious Duke speech of "our degree means so much more" to justify NIL peanuts.....He isn't going to get drafted anywhere near the level to make real money. If he can get a decent NIL deal, that can have a material impact if you are smart with it.

Actually, he was a four star recruit below the likes of Connor Weigman who was a five star recruit. Murphy's rating was based totally on potential due to his size (6 feet; 5 inches) and arm strength. The hope was he'd improve on his accuracy and processing in college. He's still very much a work in progress in that regard. He has some functional mobility but he's not a true dual threat quarterback and probably a poor fit for Klein's offense.

You are exactly right. And they often don't even know the stats/production of the player. They just want them because they started somewhere else.

Everything comes full circle on here. For the last 4 years Ags laughed at this QB going to the sips. And now an Ag thinks we should give him a look without any real justification.

I should say he's not the gauranteed QB1 everyone here swears we need. I see him more as competition fir O'Neil. I don't see us opening up the QB competition but you never know.
