When I hear dumb **** the yell leaders try to "joke" about at yell practice I'm not upset because I'm going to get made fun of or anything like that.

It's just dumb. They aren't funny. Yet they try and fail spectacularly....over and over....

1939 was 85 years ago. Just stop and face facts we are and incredible world class university but we suck at football. Average and Mediocre is the identity of our football program.

Back in my day, early 90s, the sound system was so bad hardly ever heard their jokes. So I got down low one time so I could hear them. They were just as bad back then.

Did I ever think, let's get rid of the yell leaders. Nope

Just thought their jokes sucked and did not waste anymore thought on it.

Recruits care about good coaching, playing time, NIL packages, TV exposure, history of putting players into the NFL, facilities, system, etc, etc

The Yell Leaders are not on the list. However, traditions are part of what older donors care about and their opinions are very important.

Do you realize how stupid that sounds? Back when I was there, we lost a lot. Never thought of it again, at least we're playing good teams!

Something is really odd about people here that constantly whine about and criticize the yell leaders.

For some of you, it has mushroomed into a very weird OBSESSION.

I can think of at least 20 things we can do to improve "the program." And even more than 20 if we are talking about the athletic program beyond the .750 winning percentage of the football team.

If you can't lay off the yell leaders and acknowledge their value to the entire university, perhaps you might consider getting some professional help. Your preoccupation with them is beyond odd.

To be clear, I'm not saying get rid of them, yell practice, yells, etc.. I just think everyone would be better off without giving them the 10 minutes, or however long, of mic time they have at yell practice.

And yes, I did not waste anytime thinking about it other than no longer trying to get close at yell to hear the bad joke section. I will enjoy all the other elements of yell practice.

None of them are problems. One really sucks though... well two but one of those two got significantly better while the other stays bad

I got an idea, let's keep doing the same old we have been doing, continue to throw good money after bad, beat our chest about how "we are the Aggies, the Aggies are we" and see what we get again "next year".

We can blame the elimination of ticket pull on how bad we are next year. Never mind that we have been in the conference since 2011 and have never sniffed the conference championship game. tu joins this year and waltz into Atlanta laughing at the "poor Aggies".

I got an idea just spit balling here but what if we actually put in the work stop crying win the games we should, beat the teams we are capable of beating and learn how to win on the road.

But that is just me.

i dont understand why people who dont like texas a&m came to texas a&m? Pretty much every other school is cookie cutter. If anything, a&m should be leaning into the weird and stop trying to appeal to the masses.

Tradition is good when it is a successful one. We do not have a winning tradition. That is not an opinion, it is a fact.

Those videos of the yell leaders, talking about the Longhorns joke of a schedule at yell practice. Those videos are out there forever - and the cringe level is off the charts. They have 40+ more wins than us head to head. That is one sided. I hate Texas as much as the next person, but that is not a rivalry, it is an annihilation.

One thing to consider, since Yell Leaders do not throw each other into the air and/or build pyramids, the university saves on insurance premiums

Not sure if OP is trolling, but....

The yells need a total makeover. You have the fanbase and the enthusiasm. Change the yells to something intuitive that fires up the crowd and is impressive to watch. Sawing Varsity's horns off is freaking cool and impressive to watch. That's why they show it on national TV.

Get rid of the obscure, arbitrary yells from 1910 that nobody understands, to an updated modern battle cry that actually fires up the crowd.

Make yell leaders cool again.
