i am 100% certain that yell leaders have never lost us a football game. i would propose their influence over the crowd noise helped us win games.

Not an Aggie. Just another Aggie dad of two. In my very humble opinion A&M has gone from a respected member of a very good but regional conference in The Big 12 into the SEC which is the best and known nationwide. Now, twelve years later the deciders of these things be should consider a melding of old traditions and maybe introducing new traditions for the future. I'm not sure what my kids would feel about this.

Nobody cares about what happened before 1973, especially the recruits you're concerned with.
Even t.u.'s most recent Natty occurred before these kids were born.
Clemson has more current day bragging rights than 'sip.

But back to your comment, 1973 is when scholarships got regulated. If you're going to tally a H2H record that's got a shred of relevance, start there and let us know what you find

As for the tell leaders, the problem isn't their existence. It's the stupid **** they say, that now gets video'd and lands across social media.

Yell leaders are fine.

Aggies need to double down on tradition and become red ass again. They need old army yell leaders that more closely resemble marine drill sergeants. The corps needs to become "hard corps" again.

I feel those that just want to change A&M traditions are just mis-placed sips. You made the wrong choice in colleges if you can't fully accent the traditions of this school. If you want cookie cutter college experiences then you had many choices. Too bad you choose something original and just can't accept it,

The yell leaders are not preventing the football program from being successful or in anyway hindering Texas A&M from being a great university.
Would you rather have "cheerleaders" holding some asinine sign saying "Make Noise" like many of the other schools?

How about the last 15 games. We're 4-11, but hey we beat them in the 80s and early 90s

I don't think we need to get rid of the yell leaders, but we need to (1) put an absolute lid on their cringey jumping around and making jokes, and (2) put cheerleaders on the field with them.

I think we should also break up the corps block. I am so tired of seeing that tiny segment of our university get 90% of the camera time during games.

We also need to officially get rid of the hiss. We have been jobbed so many times in recent years, it's time to send the word out to every student and former student that they are to boo and yell angrily at the refs when they screw us, not hiss like little girls.

Let's look at our bowl competition. Who wants hot women representing their school when you can have creepy dudes with buzz cuts?

1. This is part of the broader, and older, argument that there is something wrong with the culture of Texas A&M (hint, hint) that prevents some recruits from choosing our school.

2. Albeit the Covid year, but how much did the Yell Leaders matter then?

3. Are you insinuating Yell Leaders are impacting player performance? Because since joining the SEC we have had consistently higher recruiting rankings than ever, despite our middling performance year after year, which blows your theory out of the water of players not coming to Aggieland because of videos that you find embarrassing.

4. Many of you are taking your problems with college kids doing harmless college things as the problem with the program. While that may be your reality it is a stupid assessment when you start looking at other factors.

Reality is you should just give back your aggie ring, go somewhere else.

Yell Leaders have no bearing on wins and losses. What we need is for a top tier Athletic Director and his/her team allowed to run the AD as an elite organization. This means you BMAs and BOR continuing to support the program but just staying out of the way. We have way too many Jerry Jones wannabes meddling with the program.

Having said that, I do think it's time to get rid of the stupid Yell Leaders storytelling at Midnight Yells. It's not the 1950s anymore, just overly cringy. Also agree with getting rid of the Corps block. I'm sure CTs would be okay with that.

It's unlikely to change but I would like to decrease the visibility of the yell leaders. It's a DJ game now anyway. Yell practice needs to be updated. It could have been great before but it isn't great now. Spare me the "it's supposed to be that way". It's supposed to be that way when it was entertaining and worked. It is no longer a "other people just don't get it, we're unique" it's just over the top and bad, the same way they lead yells. Flame away

I don't think a chancellor appointed under a former yell leader as governor nor a retired general as campus president are likely to initiate undoing yell leaders.

I did try to read your post for other likely changes to the program (yell leaders are not part of the football program per se) and drew a blank…

And they hang on to the fact they beat up on us before the 70's when there were no scholarship limits and we were an all male school. What's your point?

I am a UH fan. I see no problem with A&M traditions (Yell Leaders). As a fan of college football the Corps/Yell leaders make A&M unique. If you are worried about giving someone ammo to make fun of you….they will find something else. Trust me on that last point.

It's amazing to me how thin skinned Aggies are now a days. I grew up in the panhandle. When everyone found out I was headed to A&M, the onslaught of Aggie jokes, etc began. Never once thought that any of that onslaught should make me want to change aspects of our school.

I blame Sbisa Dining Hall for most of our problems.
