One minute playing for all the gold, the next playing Care Bears in Shreveport and playing not to lose

LSU vs their old DC, Aranda. It's a shoe-in.jt16 said:
They'll probably put LSU in Texas since we were just there

We're being slated to play Minnesota in Nashville at the Music City Bowl. LSU will be playing in Houston. OU will play in Shreveport.
I'll go against Baylor - no travel? School we used to play in the big 12? reasonable ticket price? sounds like a fun day with the family to me.JDCAG (NOT Colin) said:
With the expanded playoff feel bowls are gonna to have real problems getting butts in seats, IMO. So many teams had playoff hopes 2 weeks ago and won't care about a bowl game now. When there were only 4 spots many teams were already trying to figure out their bowl options the last month.
I bet we see almost exclusively empty bowls

Where are you seeing that? I've seen Gator, Outback, and Vegas, but not Music City.
Wait, the Texas Bowl is now in Shreveport?Magneto said:

Coaches love them. They'll never go away. Extra month of practices, a chance for a trophy in the cabinet, and an extra talking point to recruits.
It's the upperclassmen sitting out that makes them so boring.

That's what it's always been to those of us who didn't play at that level.anaggieshusband said:

We've played in that bowl 5 times out of its 24 years of existence. Yeah, we "own" that bowl game.Ol Mase said:
Might as well rename it the Texas A&M Bowl
Can A&M refuse to play in a bowl game. From what I saw in these last few weeks anyone can beat A&M. The play calling is so predictable a halfway decent DC can call every play A&M is going to run! Plus when you play not to lose, YOU LOSE!Magneto said:

Believe it or not some of these kids like playing football. Others will want to maintain their position on the depth chart. Others will want to take advantage of the opportunity to prove themselves with upper classmen holding out for the draft.fulshearAg96 said:
Why would any player w NIL income want to play in a meaningless bowl game?
