I was looking up some tu stats and came across a few facts that blew my mind ….now this isn't a deep dive into facts on how this was accomplished…just an observation:

tu 's rank in passing defense in 2023 was
National rank- #105 allowing 254.4 yards per game

2024 passing defense
National rank- #1 allowing just 145.7 yards per game

So the question is HTF did they do this in one years time????

Taffe and Mukuba combined with paying Barron to stay.

I don't understand how they replaced Sweat and Murphy.

But I had two idiots telling me I was wrong when I said I wish we had their secondary two weeks ago. That our secondary was better. Damn band dorks trying to talk football.

Mukuba a senior and will be gone next year, but Taffe is a junior and will be back next year for the horns

Looks like their walkons were better than our scholly guys. Coaching!

They are FAST. Maybe not in line, but football fast. Their closing speed was impressive. They don't give up big plays because they are fast. Plus they tackle.

Before yesterday's game, we scored 31+ points in regulation in 5 of 7 SEC games, including in 3 of 4 road games. In fact, we had averaged 32.57 points per SEC game, which was the highest in SEC play. Also, that was 2.43 more points per SEC game than the second highest in SEC play: Texas has scored 30.14 points per SEC game.

Unfortunately, our offense ran into Texas' defensive buzzsaw that allowed just 15.83 points per SEC game before yesterday. We did not score a single offensive point because we failed to convert 4th and 1 at the Texas 10-yard line on our opening drive and failed to score on 4th and goal from the Texas 1-yard line.

We should have kicked the field goal on the first drive to take a 3-0 lead. If we had kicked a field goal on that drive, we would have trailed 17-10 with 4:36 left. Going for the game-tying touchdown would have been the right decision. Also, Colin Klein could have called better plays from the 1-yard line.

Our offense has sucked all year except against bad competition. Give it up.

Texas secondary would give up 300 yards passing against a good QB. They got to play Arkansas QB while he was injured. They a ton of non-passing QBs. And played vs the 3rd string QB of Florida. Georgia QB has sucked most of this year, but probably among they best they'll play til the playoffs. They've played a bunch of JAGs, backups, or injured QBs.

Yes, their schedule was really easy this year because we were on it. Come on, give me a break

Also their offense just chews clock once they get a lead. Every game since Georgia they just grind out the 2nd half and it's done so teams don't get many possessions. Simmons and Moore get way more pressure on the QB than what they had last year and the kid from Clemson cleans up the mess.

It is much easier for our opponents to maintain a spy on our QB since no one fears our passing game.

So yes, their schedule was more difficult last year

We should be wishing we had their whole team. There's not one position group where we're better.
