New set of excuses.

I'm all for ranting but this doesn't even make sense. What fan on here is making excuses? Most people are calling for staff to be fired one year in (something I lean towards as well). If talking about the coaches making excuses, they are saying the same thing all coaches say, including Jimbo. Need to play better/execute. Have to be better. Etc.

It's comical

Half the posters are saying they're never going to watch A&M football again until we make changes and the other half is complaining about the changes.

There are plenty here making excuses.

Case in point.

If only "DOGE" could look at where all the money went.....

Come on man…Jimbo went 5-7 and 6-4 in his last two years. He lost to App St for god's sake. At least try to make sense.

Well at least we only gave Elko a 7 year contract. Not really fare to hold him completely accountable for year 1, but if after 4 years the results aren't better, then sending him packing won't cost us so much. And we may be almost done with paying Jimbo not to coach by then.

I personally think he will turn it around, and we will be begging him to stay. So let's just give it time. If he and Klein trot out the same dull unimaginative offense next year, I will admit that I was completely wrong.

And we struggled to beat Bowling Green, and only put up 30 points on a 2 win New Mexico State team. What's your point?

That's basically what I have been calling for. Until the fans and money vote with feet and wallets, there is no incentive to identify the problem.

Didn't like the Jimbo hire and glad he is gone. I like Elko. This is the first year and willing to be patient and perhaps even more patient than I was with Jimbo. What I can't stand are the ADs, board, and president who make these systemic decisions. Sumlin was a good hire, but a horrible extension. Sherman wasn't bad, but I wonder if someone else could have been hired. I had high hopes for Franchione, and I am class of '93. I was ready for Slocum to go after what seemed like huge momentum changes for t.u., OK, and TT. Now I reminisce on a program that last saw its climatic days around '94 and then again in '98. It is almost 30 years to today that we had a dominant presence over t.u.

SMFH anybody who thinks Jimbo does better than 8-4 and keeping it close against tu has some serious short term memory issues

At the end of last season, I was all for hanging up Jimbos career with a t.u. loss and sending him packing. Was not for putting that pressure on a new coach. I have changed my mind and think Elko was a good addition / this is an opportunity for him to actually "change" our program.

Like it or not, it does take time. We are more hurt by the fact we lost after all these years rather than how we actually lost.

Unfortunately, we had stellar games against lsu and mizzou that made us think we were gonna be able to imitate vs a playoff team.

I'm on record of not being in favor of Jimbo from the beginning. But that doesn't change my factual statement.

The point is if you are going to fire a NC coach, you better have a plan in place to hire better. We obviously fired a coach in the heat of the moment with no better plan in place. We HOPE it works out well.

Jimbo was a bad hire and FSU laughed at us for taking him off of their hands. Equally elko was not a great hire and will be gone in 3-4 years. If you think me wrong ask yourself why none of the other blue blood teams looking for a coach last year snatched him up.

One of Jimbo's teams lost six straight games, something that had not happened at A&M since the early 70's. That was right after signing the #1 class
