We haven't shown a ton of trickery in our play calling this year. It's mostly been standard plays with sound ways to beat different defenses. I loved the play call to end the game even though Amari dropped it. Absolutely beautiful play.
-it was open, and should have been caught. We ran it really well right up until the drop
-it makes defenses have another thing to prepare for.
-it shows Klein is willing to be creative to win, which all the great OC's can do.

Everything was great except for the option to the short side of the field. It gave me Fran flashbacks.

This was a check by Reed, not a Klein playcall

After scoring just 7 points in the first half, we scored 24 second half points and finished with 31 points in regulation against Auburn, which is tied with Georgia for the most points scored in regulation against Auburn this season. Georgia scored 31 points with senior quarterback Carson Beck against Auburn at home. In contrast, we scored 31 points in regulation in a night road game at Auburn with redshirt freshman Marcel Reed making only his 6th career start and 3rd career road start and without our top running backs Reuben Owens and Le'Veon Moss. That's the most points scored in regulation in a road game at Auburn since Arkansas's 41-27 road win at Auburn on 10/29/2022.

Colin Klein made a great play call. We just didn't execute it. It's a shame that Amari Daniels dropped a game-tying 2-point play that would have sent the game into a 5th overtime. Our offense needs to find its rhythm early and be more consistent throughout the game against Texas. Starting slow is a recipe for disaster, especially against Texas. After trailing LSU 17-7 at halftime, we outscored LSU 31-6 in the 2nd half to crush LSU 38-23, but we can't trail by 10+ points at halftime and expect to beat Texas. We need to play well on both sides of the ball from start to finish.

1000% agree. Hope we see that expand more this week- we need to get him 5-10 touches running the ball IMO

Amari at 27 and Reed at 21 is a lot. Bussey should be more fresh and would help spread the work

Not sure passing to a RB who is not a proven hands guy in the mist critical play of the night is a brilliant option.

Is it 2nd down for Texas A&M?

Yes

Put all defenders in the box and crash the center

You could argue Klein's playcalling cost us the game in OT alone. In OT3, he had Reed throw an out-route to a slow TE who made virtually no attempt to create separation. The throw wasn't perfect but the playcall seemed weak.
