This is asinine. 30 quarters without a holding call.

How does that compare to other teams?

How odd.

I knew we were getting screwed, but not that bad. That's infuriating. Other teams have been flawless for 7 and half games?

Never underestimate the power of Texas politicians that graduated from t.u.

And that's not a joke.

Sankey approves!

(7 and a half games where the opposition didn't hold once, but Leveon Moss had 2 TD runs called back in the same game against Mississippi State?)

I will say when your strength on defense is your DL and other teams are getting away with holds it nuetralizes our strength and our defense overall.

So this could explain some of the reason or D has stumbled. Definitely not all of it but it has to be a factor unless you beleive other teams are doing a great jovlb blocking against us and only us.

It's why our D needs to knock Ewers and Manning out of the game with legitimate hits. Eff the sips.

South Carolina was the most penalized team in the SEC leading into our game. They ran the ball around the edges on us all night while only being called for a handful of procedural penalties. Meanwhile, we were called for holding, defensive holding, and pass interference.

And think it was a close game going into the 4th quarter. Definitely could have made an impact on the game.

Apparently the gap is 8 calls against us in that time to obviously 0 against our opponents

Did Florida get called for holding?

Apparently its accurate. I haven't verified it but BG had a hold in the second quarter against us. That's the last time one was called.

Don't like saying we are playing against the refs but with that stat we certainly are playing at a disadvantage

Florida was before BG so its possible (if they didnt get one) that no SEC offensive lineman has been flagged so far in our entire conference slate.

Looks like there may have been one with 52 seconds left in the 2nd quarter. They also had another holding on the first drive of the second quarter.

And for the "stop crying about the refs" people, we've had multiple holds go uncalled. I saw two we committed on Saturday. One that didn't affect a play, and one that did.

I personally don't think it's a conspiracy. But for some reason, each and every game, referees are watching the other team with less scrutinizing detail than they are us. I don't care if they miss calls, if they actually call similar infractions on both teams. We aren't the only ones holding. And what's more infuriating is when we get a pivotal call for taking out a QB's legs, then I turn over to the Georgia vs Tennessee game, see the EXACT same thing happen, and no call.

Johs Pate has been all over this. It's not a conspiracy. It's a lack of consistency across the league and across the nation. One crew is allowed to see things a certain way while the next crew can focus on entirely different things. There is no mandate. You have no idea what facet of your game is going to be scrutinized each week.

There is too much money involved to have part time refs. They need to be well paid, full time employees of the NCAA with consistent focus game to game, league to league, and week to week. There needs to be monetary incentive to do well and strict punishment for egregious bad calls or no calls. They need to be graded each week publicly and the head ref should have to sit in a press conference and explain what he saw.

Agreed on full time refs. They make $2k-$3k a game. So up to $36k a year. Make starting pay at least $50k and make it a full time job.

Come on everyone. It stands to reason with our lack of talent on the DL. But seriously, this feels like it's been going on for years, at least back to the Myles Garrett fiasco at Auburn.

Needs to be better than median HHI. Likely $65k.

A+ each game = $2,000 bonus per game.
A or A- = $1,000 bonus
B- through B+ - $500 bonus
C's = No bonus
D's = $500 penalty
F's = $1,000 penalty

3 games in a row in the A's and you get $2k additional bonus
5 games in a row in the A's and you get a $5k bonus.

3 games in a row below a C- and you are penalized $2,000
5 games in a row below B- and you are penalized $1,000
More than half your games below B- and you are penalized $5,000
More than 10 games below B- and you are penalized $10k

Give them health insurance, 401k, etc. But the incentive structure has to be there.

Auburn? I remember an Arkansas lineman ripped Garrett's shirt completely off his back and no holding was called.

I've been trying to tell you guys there is an inherent bias against the Ags.

Most SEC refs have ties to other programs and the general narrative round us has been doubtful, especially this season.

When your expectation of a team is to underperform then your calls follow suit.

Considering how much money is wrapped up in college football you would think full time refs with a decent salary and accountability could/would become a reality.

It needs to happen because they are helping to ruin the game and this is a relatively easy fix.

Do $50k plus game incentives. Again that would be year 1 zero experience at college level, maybe lower teir conferences. P4 is a promotion and obvious bump in pay. You could even do a multi-tier system with FCS being your starting point then lower level FBS and finally P4.

I like this, but I would say long term good calls/games should be salary raises instead of bonuses

and instead of a 10k penalty for more than 10 bad games, I think termination/probation is warranted

Elko should task some on his team to create a Youtube channel to highlight these missed holding penalties. When everyone is seeing it, the SEC office might actually address it. Right now, he is just saying it without any tangible evidence.
