Under Colin Klein, we scored 31+ points in regulation in 5 of 7 SEC games, including in 3 road games at Florida, Mississippi State, and Auburn. In fact, we have scored 32.57 points per SEC game, which is the highest in SEC play. Also, that is 2.43 more points per SEC game than the second highest in SEC play: Texas has scored 30.14 points per SEC game. We managed to post these numbers with redshirt freshman Marcel Reed starting 4 of 7 SEC games, including 3 of 4 SEC road games, and injuries to our 2 best running backs Reuben Owens and Le'Veon Moss.
Our defense as been horrible in our last two SEC games. We allowed 44 points to South Carolina and 43 (31 in regulation) points to Auburn. The 87 combined points (75 in regulation) allowed in our last two SEC games is just 7 points fewer than the combined 94 points across our first 5 SEC games. As a result, our scoring defense went from allowing 18.8 points per SEC game to allowing 25.86 points per SEC game, 10th in conference play.
