Georgia, Bama, Vols and winner of our game with Sips will be the 4 SEC teams in the playoff if they all win out in the regular season.
What number are you? Will be watching to make sure you dont screw up.TAMU74 said:
Ole Miss losing at Florida is exactly what concerns me about our game tonight with Auburn
I've got to play our best football of the year.
In this scenario it would be A&M/Georgia. A&M over t.u./UGA based on conference opponent win percentage and then UGA over t.u. with the head to head.Ghost of Bisbee said:
If we go 1-1 next two games, and Bama loses to Oklahoma and TN loses to Vandy.. it'd be rematch against us and Sip in SEC championship? Where does Georgia fall?
Lol. There is no way Tennessee gets in over texas (and tough to put texas in without A&M who would've just beat them).LB12Diamond said:

I'm confused why people think anything else matters in the SEC other than our games.
We are in the playoffs if we win out. We're out if we don't.
If we can't beat friggin Auburn we don't belong in the playoffs.TAMU74 said:

That was fun to watch! I don't care much for Ol Piss, and went to the Florida game this year. Good vibes from Gator fans, so felt good for them (in addition, of course, to it helping us out).

Don't care about those other SEC teams.... only care about one team; starts with with a T ends with an Aggies

As long as we win the next 2 and LSU wins out, I think this seals it for us even if we lose to someone in the SEC title game. Obviously, we have to win the next 2, but whether that means the committee decides to let tu in with their crap schedule or limits the SEC to 4 teams and leaves them out, it gives us wins over collectively better teams.
Between us beating tu in this instance and a healthy Florida team on the road, I'd think it'd be enough tangible evidence that we should be in over tu.
Now we just need Marcel to start getting 65% completion percentage….

If Alabama loses to either OU or Auburn, A&M could make the SECCG even with another loss.Brian Earl Spilner said:

I agree that a team should not be punished for a conference championship loss. If we lost to Alabama by 8 points or fewer, I think we will still get in, but a loss by 10+ points could eliminate us because 2 of our 3 losses would be by double digits.Seven Costanza said:
I haven't really thought this through, but I wonder if it would make sense for the CFP committee to have a rule that says you can't move down in the rankings after a conference championship loss, except by being leaped by a conference championship winner.
I don't think it should guarantee a playoff appearance. I just think you shouldn't be punished for a loss in an extra game that the other teams didn't have to play.Iraq2xVeteran said:I agree. I changed it to a team should not be punished for a conference championship game loss. ISeven Costanza said:I don't think it should guarantee a playoff appearance.
