Another Texas Monthly article here for the young 'uns, this one about why the Turkey Day game used to be known around campus as the P*ssy Bowl:

Try cut-and-pasting this, replacing the ***** with the banned word that starts with w and ends with e: https://www.texasmonthly.com/arts-entertainment/aggie-song-best-little-*****house-in-texas/

How "The Aggie Song" became a classic number in the Tony Awardnominated musical The Best Little Wh*rehouse in Texas

The filter is wrecking the link better than the Wrecking Crew. TexAgs needs to relax the filter on notionally hidden urls.

Texas Monthly can't find either of those links.

Maybe they just don't like Texags.

TexAgs filter is wrecking the links.

I like that they let John Sharp do that opening line.

This is Broadway captured in a movie. Not history.

History in broad strokes, but still history. The play is closer to fact than the film. https://www.amazon.com/Inside-Texas-Chicken-Ranch-Definitive/dp/1467153931/

People should order the book by that Blaschke guy mentioned in the article. .

I enjoyed that 1968 Observer article, written a few years before Marvin Zindler blew it up and the details were still sorta hush-hush. One funny point is that the author for that liberal magazine was surprised that a "puritan America" farming area would put up with the Ranch. Guess he didn't know where all those hard to pronounce road names, painted churches, and breweries came from. Not exactly Puritans.
