dude made the all decade team and was a multiple time pro bowler. how is the guys considered the best at his position for a decade not in the hall of fame?

Meh, not really. Lechler was an all-time great, no doubt. But an all-time great punter. Nothing like being one of the best O-linemen of all time.

But yeah, Shane should be in the HOF...after Webb.

Thomas is a seven time all-pro. His Hall of Fame credentials are not really debatable

Webb should've gotten in long ago

Isn't Ray Guy the only punter currently in the Hall of Fame - as a punter? Ther may be other players who are in for their play at other positions but also may have punted - Blanda was QB, but also on occasion kicked FG's and punted.

I sat next to Webb in a class with assigned seating. Dude is smart as well as being the main reason Dan Marino set all of those records.

This is correct, and he just got voted in a few years ago. Many believed, at the time, that he was voted in because everyone knew that Lechler would/should be a HOF'r, but they didn't feel like they could vote in Shane without Ray.
