Auburn sucks this year and if we are anywhere worthy of the CFP or much less, the SEC Champ game like we're thinking we are, then this game should be a non-issue. SC was different because they gave some top teams a scare.

You talking to the 90% of us who know we have the better team and know we can win this week?

or the 10% who whine about every little thing that triggers their insecurities?

Said it before and will say again...as of right now Auburn, Kentucky, Oklahoma and Mississippi State are of no threat to any team in the top half of the SEC Standings

"If Texas A&M can win its final two games, it will finish 7-1 in conference play and earn the No. 1 seed in the SEC championship game. According to ESPN Analytics, Texas has a 78% chance to beat Texas A&M. The Longhorns have a 73% chance of finishing 7-1 in SEC play while the Aggies only have a 14% chance to finish 7-1."

We have a habit of starting slow. More often than not, we've been able to overcome those holes and win games. However, that makes me a little leery of any road night game. That place will be full of energy. A couple bad bounces and we find ourselves behind trying to claw back into the game. I'm not "scared", but that's never a good feeling with the type of offense that we are running right now.

On paper we are superior and should win the game without much question. Game isn't played on paper.

-Our best RB is out
-A "bad" SC offense embarrassed us

Your use of the word "bad" is misleading and inaccurate. A better word for both our passing game and SC's offense would be "average". There, I fixed it for you.

Our passing offense is 13th in the SEC and 96th in the country. That's not average.

USCe game is the example....frankly, there are issues in every game with tackling and busted coverages (every single game this year...we still are such a work in progress it's almost annoying, but year 1). If the team wasn't prepared for that USCe game with everything on the line, tells me we still have a ways to go to push culture forward.

Aub has to win their last 2 to make a bowl and starting to play better (is the game more important to them...we'll see).

Aub has one of the top RBs in SEC. Their WR corps (esp Coleman) is waking up...they actually have several WRs vs. our DBs (advantage Aub), but offset by their poor QB play thus far. Our coverage is good for at least giving up 1-2 busted plays per game so far (NM St had openings and just missed the throw).

Night game on the road...we still don't have a good history with that (other than UF 'early' (ignoring a crappy 4th qtr), generally our road games have been mediocre wins vs. Pigs and MS St and blown out by USCe).

Aub always plays us tough and records do not matter nor prior games in the year. It's the SEC...any team can lose any week.

Odds makers have this as a 1.5 -2.5 game....if we are the 15th ranked team and they are what 4-6, why so close?

Do you think that's because we are a "bad" team or the fact that for all of our games leading up to SC we gave the ball to Moss and let him do his thing behind our strong O line. Or even the fact that our offense is more focused on running the ball rather than passing it because it has worked very well this season and its how Klein likes to run his offense. Passing yards a game and attempt don't determine a teams entire success. To think we are incapable of passing the ball and that we have a "bad" passing game is just you trying to be negative so you don't give your hopes up when the Ags inevitably disappoint you, rather than being optimistic.

It will be a good game and it will be a close game. But there is no reason to see our team as some incapable dumpster fire of an offense. In case you forgot we are 8-2 with an undertalented WR core, a QB we didn't think would be leading our offense 3 months ago and 2 scholarship RBs on the roster.

Penalties and turnovers can make a home dog a winner. At night and Senior night with
nothing to lose helps home dog too. As bad as Auburn was last year, Ga was lucky to win by 7
and bama had to complete a 40 yard pass on last play of the game to win.

All the pressure will be on our team, and if Auburn limits their mistakes, this game will be very close!

Sorry, I posted this on another thread.

This is why I would be worried about Auburn. Even Elko is thinking about Texas.

"I don't think (our focus) an issue," Elko said. "When you're in the situation we're in, it's easy to focus on the task at hand. I think those big games earlier in the year, maybe you look ahead. If we didn't have at stake, what's at stake, maybe you would worry about it. I think our focus is single-handedly on Texas... or, I mean Auburn right now, and locked in on what we got to get done."

Outside of Mizzou we have been inaccurate throwing the ball. Reed has not thrown well against any good defense. Our WRs are inconsistent in route running and gaining separation.

I agree about our receivers but I think you are shorting Marcel and our coaching staff. I will come back to this post late Saturday night to again tell you to be more optimistic.

Objectively speaking, Texas is a really bad matchup for us. Offensively, their plan is to get the ball to guys in space with misdirection and the quick game. Ewers has one of the lowest ADOT (average depth of target) in Power 4 football. They test the discipline and integrity of a defense, and force you to tackle in space. We have not been great in that regard.

On defense, they have as athletic a front 7 as we'll see including South Carolina. I suspect our plan is going to be to try and grind it out and shorten the game, keeping their offense on the sideline. To do that, Reed will have to be able to make some throws and extend some drives.

We absolutely can win that game at home, but if we dig ourselves in a hole early I fear we won't be able to get back in it.

Not sure why this game keeps getting compared to South Carolina. SC is way better than Auburn. They avg 29 pt/gm in SEC play vs. 16 for Auburn. Auburn's defense is better and I expect them to keep them in the game. Could we lose? Sure, but I don't think Auburn's terrible offense has all of a sudden woken up bc of a blowout of LA-Monroe. They scored 7 points against Vandy. If Thorne were mobile I might be less optimistic. Low scoring game, 23 - 16 Ags.

Auburn offensive scoring against teams with a pulse:
Cal - 14
Arky - 14
Oklahoma - 21
Geogia - 13
Missouri - 17
Kentucky - 24 (the only win in this list)
Vandy - 7
