Aubrey was a good kid. We saw him perform in community theater back in the day, and he posted on Texags. I guess he is middle-age by now.

That was a crazy day... It was also a crazy Cotton Bowl (cold, rainy, and way too much "Rocky Top").
Amazing how one choice in one moment can almost define/identify a person for life.
I'm sure Listeater turned out to be a fine person, mother, Ag ... but she will always be Listeater.

I wasn't there because I'd gotten free Cotton Bowl tickets from a friend (I still hate hearing Rocky Top). But heard all about it at the time and from friends actually in line.

Aggies camped out for tickets for the Cotton Bowl. So that a person didn't have to physically plant their ass on the cold concrete in front of the window and then have a line of people behind them doing the same, they started a handwritten list based on FCFS. Everyone there agreed to the custom. Early that morning, this person showed up and stood at the window. She was not on the list. When told of the lost, she said it didn't apply to her. She refused to budge. At some point during the confrontation she grabbed the list from someone's hand and ate it.
The eating was not caught on video, but the ensuing hilarity is part of Aggie lore.

My dad took me and some friends, including my bud's dad, to that Cotton Bowl. 24 rows up, first deck, on the 50. Rad seats. As we sat down, I told my bud's dad that my dad takes using God's name in vain very seriously. He understood and the game got underway.
Sometime late in the game, Tennessee scored to make the game something like 38-0. Buddy's dad leaned over to me and softly whispered, "Jesus." Couldn't help but die laughing.

This thread brings me great joy. This happened my freshman year at A&M.
That Tennessee game at the Cotton Bowl was the most miserable game I've attended in my life. Barely any sleep the night before (think it was NY Day game), and then it was cold, rainy, and we got demolished.
We refused to leave early - and pretty sure some of the people with us fell asleep in the stands it was so bad.
List Eater will always be an epic story to me.

After seeing the ticket pull camp this week I told my kids the story of the List Eater on Sunday. This thread has warmed my heart.

lol. The annual list eater thread makes me laugh every year. Was there for all the fun, and always laugh at the WTF grin I have on my face when she walks away, around the 6:56-6:58 mark.
