I think people let their superstitions get to them too much - I mean, if we talk about it, doesnt mean we cause Auburn to win this week. I have worn the same shirt during wins, not gone to games (My only ARK game to attend was when we lost a few years ago) - and lots of other superstitions..

as long as people realize your spot on the couch that you sit in while we start winning think has a connection to the team actually winning - then you will always have crazy folks talking like this "one game at a time" - they are afraid of the jinx

There are no trap games. There might be confidence issues still being overcome. If we lose this because Auburn was better, give them credit if they win.

Let's focus on beating Auburn.

I overlook every game and talk as much trash as possible to my friends when we win. When we lose I encourage them to use grace and humility in their victory.

Why was another thread created for this?

Why isn't our game a trap game for Auburn? They also have a hated rival the week after us, and, after a putrid season, care more about that game than ours?

"I don't think (our focus) an issue," Elko said. "When you're in the situation we're in, it's easy to focus on the task at hand. I think those big games earlier in the year, maybe you look ahead. If we didn't have at stake, what's at stake, maybe you would worry about it. I think our focus is single-handedly on Texas... or, I mean Auburn right now, and locked in on what we got to get done."

I heard this on Full Ride earlier today. It was comical.

I saw the video. Someone has to get Elko in shape. You can hear him breathing like he's climbing stairs in it. He needs to get in better shape or he's not going to be healthy enough to coach very long.

It's not a trap game if one team is only favored by 2.5 points.

The talk in the locker room should be: "Our Tournament begins now."

I believe any loss between now and the National Title game removes us from contention.

Win Auburn, then have the opportunity to play Texas for a spot in the SECCG. Lose Auburn, we have 3 losses and regardless of Texas game, we're out of both SECCG and the playoff.

Win Texas, go to SECCG. Lose Texas, irrelevant bowl game.

Win SECCG, get a bye and in the playoff. Lose SECCG, we drop below 12 in the rankings and get irrelevant bowl game.

Only favored by 2.5??? Vegas knows something we don't.

Can't really argue with the author here. I think a lot of the media and talking heads think this as well thus the reason not currently favored to get to the dance.
