The youngest of my four sons was accepted at Texas A&M University. For grins, he also applied to t.u.
He found out Tuesday that he was accepted to that school as well. Keep in mind that two of his older brothers are currently enrolled at Texas A&M, and the other one is at t.u. in ATX, where my wife and I have raised our sons.
On Tuesday night he told me that he wanted to attend t.u. because he wanted to stay close to home and continue to work his way through school.
He took at tour of the 40 acres yesterday and came home around 7:00pm. I was watching tv and he walked to the couch and said,
"Hey. I'm sorry. I'm sorry for the last 24 hours - there is no way I could go to that school. I'm headed to Aggieland in January and can't wait to get there."
It shouldn't mean as much to me as it did but dad gummit.
I cried.
Gig em, little Neff.
