I don't know why we are not talking more about DiNota getting some carries since Moss went down - to keep Daniels fresh and provide a change of pace.

He might have been a better candidate for some of those fourth down tries against SC and could be a good short distance ball carrier in the future.

Because U.S. talking about it does diddly squat and Elko does not reveal us game plan or personnel. Why would you want to have that revealed???

Probably because he is RB5.

I'm talking about discussing this on a fan forum

Do I need to define "forum" for you?

Actually, once you take Moss out and discount the two QBs - he is 4th in carries this season behind Daniels, Smith, and Bussey.

https://12thman.com/sports/football/stats/2024

6 carries for 29 yards. I think all of those came against McNeese State.

Point is - NM State game is an opportunity to give him a "tryout" - especially as I expect we might want to protect Amari from unnecessary risk of injury.

If he performs well- then he could get more carries against Auburn and tu and in the SEC Championship Game and playoffs (yes - I'm an optimist).

Yep, RB5 is the new RB1. While we're at it, let's throw a walk on QB in there.

Technically you are talking about it.

He's an old school walk on and will see plenty of action Saturday (6'1/ 215 ) AJ DiNota #41, was #25 through fall camp, had to change number as he is now starting on special teams ( Kick, K ret and P ret) w/ Linebacker Jordan Lockhart #45 and Jerry Johnson III (from Rice departed via portal to Cal) #32 during spring football practice in College Station, TX. We also have to give ej, bussey and any possible mystery db to rb a tryout

Sounds like this could be information from someone who knows.

Thank you. I think DiNota might be one potential answer for who might get meaningful carries to spell Daniels and Smith going forward.

Looking forward to seeing what he, Bussey and anyone else in line to become RB3 can do to get the Aggies back on track and winning out!

BTHO NM State!!!

I was simply saying that he started the fall RB5... Moss, Owens, Daniels, Smith, Dinota. He is not a guy we should expect to have any significant success in real game action. It's just not fair to him.

Hopefully the game script allows him to play most of the second half this weekend.

Maybe Craig Bisacre can play RB while we're at it.

Op,

I am with you on this RB... he has some power and I think you could also run some 22 and 23 formations with him at fb for 5 and 22.

Let's take advantage of the extra blocking with the extra TEs and the fb where you can run and pass out of that formation.

Option and read option can be run from those formations as well.

This would also help us with something the sips would not gameplan for if we save it for Thanksgiving.

My 2 cents.

Thanks! I'm hoping for the same thing. He looked solid on his handful of carries against McNeese State - and clearly relished blocking for Bussey on that successful end-around. I think we are better with extra blockers like he could be.
