I am not surprised we dropped from No. 14 to No. 15 because I knew Ole Miss would leap ups after throttling No. 3 Georgia 28-10. We control our own destiny by winning out. If we win our last 2 SEC games against Auburn and Texas, we will play Alabama in the SEC Championship Game.

Auburn has lost 5 consecutive Power 4 home games to Alabama, Cal, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Vanderbilt. Also, Hugh Freeze is 1-7 in Power 4 home games, and his only Power 4 home win was a 27-13 win over Mississippi State on 10/28/2023. Auburn's only Power 4 win of the season is a 24-10 road win at Kentucky on 10/26. For these reasons, we will probably be a double-digit road favorite at Auburn.

Still, the road game at Auburn is a trap game because we will probably be double-digit road favorites, and it comes before the Lone Star State rivalry showdown with Texas at Kyle Field. If win beat Auburn, we will return to Kyle Field with a 9-2 (6-1 SEC) record and be playing Texas for both an SEC Championship Game appearance and a playoff appearance.

Yes they beat Georgia but do not forget the loss to UK at home (for ole miss). UK is 3 and freaking 6
It's even crazier how Ole Miss is the only SEC win for 3-6 (1-6 SEC) Kentucky. Unless Kentucky upsets Texas in Austin, Kentucky will finish with a 1-7 SEC record, and Ole Miss will be Kentucky's only SEC win.

BCS computer rankings were used with biggest complaint being only 2 teams, so go back to that system or a similar 1. Won't be hard to get transparency from a computer model

Unbalanced schedule is fixed by top 2 teams playing CCG to see who gets bye.
Next 4 play each other to see who gets in playoff.

This year with assumptions of favorites winning out. Unfortunately that is Texas and Bama in CCG. Both are in playoff. They play each other to see who gets bye.

#3. TAMU plays #6. Tenn
#4. Georgia plays #5 ole Miss

Winners go to playoffs. Losers go play in a bowl. Schedules matter less as you now play at least 2 top 10 teams along the way. Non conference slate matters less as conference games carry all the weight.
14 teams
4 SEC
4 BIG
2 Big xii
2. ACC
2 G5

A lot depends on what happens this weekend with Tenn/Uga.

Tenn win and UGA is officially out. I don't see any other losses for Miss and Bama. They are in. Tenn still has Vandy so I won't completely write a win in for them there, but probable and if so in. You have 4 Big teams in as I simply can't imagine any losses for any of those teams that would kick them out. Then add ND, G5 winner, and ACC winner. That leaves 2 spots. BYU win CCG and they are only Big xii team in. Lose CCG but win all other games which they should be heavy favorites and Big xii gets 2 teams in kicking 4th team from SEC or BIG out. I think committee takes 11-1 Indiana or 10-2 Ohio st over 10-3 Aggies. With all these assumptions I expect rankings to look like this going into CCG's.
1. Oregon
2. Ohio st
3. Penn st
4. ND
5. Tenn
6. BYU
7. Bama
8. Miss
9. Ags
10 Indiana
11. Miami
12. Smu
13. Texas
14. Boise

2 teams from outside top 12 could make playoff meaning only top 10 teams are in.

If UGA wins, then Tenn is in some trouble, but that could cause more problems for Ags. Ags would then be playing Bama in CCG. A team that Tenn beat head to head. Rankings going in would look like:

1. Oregon
2. Ohio st
3. Penn st
4. Bama
5. ND
6. BYU
7. Miss
8. UGA
9. Ags
10. Indiana
11. Miami
12. Smu
13. Tenn
14. Tex

Tenn's schedule is nearly the exact same as Texas. Weak, weak, weak!
Kentucky, Vandy, Arkansas, Florida, Oklahoma, Miss St, Georgia

I'm seeing more and more commentators thinking the committee has really screwed up.

Georgia got hosed dropping so much and Miami only 5 spots.

Texas has been put at such an elevated spot that it's almost impossible the committee will have them dropped if they get beat by us.

Let's not forget SMU. Hate em but they are #1 in the ACC and only have one loss. That loss? To the lauded BYU, by 3.

I just don't respect the committee at this point because nothing seems to matter beyond how hyped up you were to start the season and overall record, not how or who you have really played.

Is there a chance that the committee comes out with a completely scrambled and completely new top 12 next week? Yes, but that pretty much destroys all credibility of how the first two have been done and as a result, they have limited themselves on making changes.

This is exactly what I am seeing and why I don't think a 3 loss CCG team gets in. I will say TU SOS is tougher today than it will be in a couple weeks, so maybe they make adjustments.

It gives them the ability to say, "that team passes the eye test".

It's all BS opinions.
