I don't put much stock in polls, so I generally try to use the eye test throughout the season with the B1G teams. I haven't been able to watch much this year. Anyone feel confident that they've seen enough games to weigh in on how their best looks compared to the SEC's?

OSU and Oregon look elite and consistent. More than any of our SEC teams. But then again we have a tougher conference top to bottom

The top of each conference is comparable, if not an edge to the Big10. But the SEC is wayyy more complete. There are no Purdues or Marylands in the SEC.

Thank you both. The SEC is clearly lacking consistency at QB, which combined with lethal defenses means no one is undefeated. In your opinions, do OSU and Oregon have QBs that can beat solid defenses, or does the B1G lack defense.

And, for the trolls, yes I know the B1G traditionally doesn't play defense like we do, but Michigan last year damn sure did and I'm wondering if that was a fluke or if that conference has adjusted.

SEC and B1G should combine for 8 teams in the CFP

it will be settled on the field

hopefully the committee pairs the leagues in the 5-12 games

I think that had to do with the sign-stealing scandal/cheating.

What are we looking at here? Your personal ranking of the two conferences? If so, I get that SC beat us but #6?

Yes. SC is really good. They are a 7-2 team just like the rest of us if either Sellers stays healthy against LSU or refs don't screw them. Bama beat them by 2 at home. Ole Miss smacked them without Sellers

Outside of the top 2, it's weak. I love my Hoosiers, and we're arguably the Big 10's 3rd best team, but we finally played a team with 4 and 5 star players today (Michigan) and struggled with the talent gap. So every single SEC game would be a challenge.

We have OU, Missouri, and cow bell. The SEC has its fair share of catfish bottom feeders.

SC already has 3 losses

And??? Do you believe they cannot be ahead of a 2 loss team because of that? They are a good team. They will finish 9-3 and just outside top 15.

If we're talking easy schedule, let's talk about Indiana. Have they really played anybody? No doubt that they have won and have won well at times but it seems worse than tu

They should just restructure the playoffs to where whoever wins it can then play the SEC champ for the natty.

Have them play the last 4 in the SEC for verification

The weakened schedules for some of these teams are a result of super conferences

Because there are so many teams in each league you can't play half the teams and wind up missing out on playing the quality teams in the league

Sips and Indiana are perfect examples

It's why the sec is going to have so many 2 loss teams and a lot of unhappy fanbases when their schools don't make the playoffs

Lots of "ifs" in there. Something about aunts, balls, and uncles comes to mind. Fact is they are a 3 loss team.
bearcat

Yes they are. And all the SEC teams are now 2 loss teams. Does that mean the likes of PSU, Indiana, BYU, Miami, Smu, Boise St are better?
