Ty Detmer says Hi.
Texas A&M defeated BYU 65-14 In 1990 Holiday Bowl.

Things we could learn from them:

1. Use of misdirection in the passing game. It seems under Jimbo we did very little of this outside of a few TE leak plays. It's more of the same under the new regime. If anything, our WRs are the ones who are confused on passing plays since they like running routes to the exact same areas of the field

2. Practicing our passing game on our lesser opponents. Seems like teams with good passing offenses use their cupcake games to build QB/WR chemistry. We only like to run against those teams, as if we have some national defense-level secret to hide about our passing game. Except our opponents inevitably figure out we can't pass that well

Did you purposely gloss over the amount of starters Florida was missing?

Under Jackie Sherrill we did. It was on display in the 87 Cotton Bowl when we shellacked the Domers. Team knew how to win.

Look how they are administering a beat down of the Gators. 42-0 in 3 quarters. It may go to 60+ - 0 if they want to. They are making a statement for the rankings.

In contrast we (Ags and Ag fans) belly-ache about being classy. No wonder we don't win anything of value.

In every game, we should be trying to give the worst shellacking the opponent has received. We need Shut-outs.

I have confidence in Elko that once his team is set, he will play to win and win big. Not to score classy points with the wokes.
Agree. We should take the Bobby Bowden approach. He said we're out here to play football and to win, it's the other team's job to stop us. We're going to keep scoring until the game is over, or until they stop us !

Definitely not the Aggie approach, when we decided mid-way through the 4th quarter to run the clock instead of trying to score against Mizzou.

In which games did we lay off the gas to be classy this year?

I think this whole classy myth started with a stupid exchange b/w Mike Sherman and a favorable reporter throwing him a softball after a close win that they chalked up to "winning the right way" or some BS.
Mizzou. We stopped trying to score at 8:39 of the fourth quarter. Instead, we tried to run out the clock (for over 1/2 a quarter left), and ended up giving them a freebie score.

Sark's offense compared to Klein's is night and day. Klein's offense has deficiencies (speed and depth) that prevent from running up the score and having that killer instinct. Texas let off the gas in the middle of the 3rd.

Like that time we kept our foot on the gas against UCLA!
