Moss was our "big back"...a priority after seeing what happened vs. SC if I'm Elko is finding some big body on the roster who can carry the ball and get a yard. I don't care if it has to be an Albert Regis type and Shemar Turner lead blocking and our opponent knows it's coming. Find someone who can get a yard when we have to have it.

honestly i think this is a good idea. ole mis uses this concept to great success. i believe maybe it was albert regis but some big body on our defensive line played some running back and tight end in high school. put shamar turner as lead blocker and tell him to go bite someone head off.

No problem with the approach. My biggest concern though with Daniels was he failed to follow his lead blocker in some short yardage scenario and hit the wrong gap. Need to fix that first.

Yes, it can be Shemar's Bobby Bouchet moment. Pick out some defender in the hole we need to move and decapitate him. He'd dominate in that role.

If you watch Jim Turners segment I'm not convinced the lead blocker in the TE went to the right hole....did that turn out to be the much bigger gap? Yes. But if you watch the rest of the line it appears they are blocking for Amari to go to the hole he hits. The TE blocked outside. Turner's point was 55 should have come off his block to block the LB who makes the tackle. Regardless, everyone was not on the correct page.

Watching JT-OLine should be a pre requisite before you can even post a complaint in the zoo. He is so good at showing and explaining how the failures happened. Oh, not dumb coaching as so many idiots are quick to say. They often called a perfectly good play where someone on the line just failed to do the basics and it resulted in a negative play.

I didn't mind going for it on fourth either time. I prefer Elko be aggressive. But Klein got it ass backwards. If you're lining up under center, turn and hand the ball off to your RB and let him hit a quick hole. If you're lining up in shotgun, let your mobile and shifty qb use the extra space to find a hole. Klein got it backwards. We also should never again let all but one second run off the clock. Talk about letting the D Line know precisely when to fire off the ball.

Not a mistake you'd expect the tight end to be oblivious to.

I think it's a good idea to have one of our defensive linemen be our lead blocker in short yardage situations.

It may be time our OC calls a short yardage play other than straight ahead down the middle

I am not going to give our OL an A on that game. Not the least because you win as a team and lose as a team.

It was originally a gif of Cullen scoring in the Gator Bowl. But it's almost funnier that it's a 404 error

The odds of finding one better than Daniels is pretty much zero.

You can bet if it's 3rd or 4th and 1 in a major situation, he will be in the game.

This would actually work. It's mystifying why coaches don't understand that F= MA

Why use a dl to block? Why not just use an extra te or more nimble OL in the backfield since they know how to block properly already?

It's nuts you go into a season with four backs one hasn't shown much in four seasons. Daniel's is totally fine if they had a few dudes behind him.

Id give Scourton the ball and let him get the yardage from full back position with Daniels behind him

Amari is just as big on a smaller frame, so he's much more of a bowling ball than Moss. Moss is taller but he's not necessarily a big back at 6 foot 215 - rocket sanders is 230 - tra carson was 235

fact is we don't really have a big back and Amari's build is closest we have

I agree with those that mention 350 samu- he came in at 380 so he is used to moving a lot of weight

Also Marcel will need to add about 15 lbs at least if he want's to survive as a runner in the SEC

That's why I put "big back" in quotations. Meaning he was our guy in short yardage most capable of getting a yard from what we've seen this season.

Yeah, and I'm saying that's a role I'm more confident in with Amari, lower center of gravity and increased density

I'm probably biased due to NCAA rankings tho, Amari is graded better in breaking tackles and trucking
