Relevant as he was recruiting Evan S to txfr from A&M to tu for 2 years (he was constantly recruiting A&M players to come to tu). Since EStew at Oregon, wonder if Cook ends up at Oregon next (unless just another troubled past HS star).

Also relevant as why tu could be winning the WR verbals as stating an open WR positions (per coworker).

Oregon is not in a place where they need to recruit outcasts. Think LSU.

He is going to end up somewhere that spreads the ball. My initial thoughts are Oregon, USC, Ohio St or LSU.

While Taylor definitely a recruiter for A&M, was never an issue on behavior, making the right choices, etc. (by all accts, model citizen, player, teammate, etc). Thought still at A&M finishing out degree, no?

Think J Cook more in the vain of D Harris…top star talent, but not really panning out (although thought Cook was a top WR for them last yr). He was more negative recruiting A&M and trying to persuade A&M top players ears to txfr to tu (EStew the main one as they are buddies via the off season circuit and WR dev rackets to get to NFL).

He always talked a big game but never played. That's why he's going. Sam Houston? Southwest Texas?

Ole Lane will roll out the NIL offers for him.

Picking up guys like Cook is the exact opposite philosophy of Coach Cignetti at IU, arguably the favorite to win coach of the year. Cignetti has been able to win so fast because when he hits the transfer portal, he doesn't care if the guy was a 5 star who went to a blue blood. He picks up veteran guys who have played meaningful reps and been productive, even if it's not at a Power 4 school. A lot of programs need to adopt that philosophy.

Lucky us, this is the exact philosophy that Elko has employed. Look no further than all of our main contributors on both sides of the ball.

I'm not sure how much juice is left in the Ole Miss NIL tank this year. They called their shot for this year, and a lot of people expect them to take a few years to build up another war chest.

And he's already visiting the good guys.

It's one thing to leave your team in the middle of the season. But it's another if your team was sip.

You guys are talking a lot of crap out of a guy who A&M recruited heavily before committing to Texas. We wanted him as badly as everyone else.

Don't act like he isn't a specimen of an athlete. And under the right mentoring and culture, who knows how high he can reach. Dude has ups and crazy speed.

Is he a risk of being a NIL Highest Bidder 5-star with little work ethic? For sure!

I sure hope Elko reaches out to at least attempt an interview with the kid. We hold major connections with him.

Oh wow what an innovative strategy. Most coaches just go for any old slappy. Can't believe someone figured out such a new way to do things.

Wouldn't mind taking a chance on him. We have to get a wr1 and he has the talent for it, We have no wr on roster better then him.

Wow! Even on Texags I wasn't sure it was possible for someone to be 180 degrees wrong. You win.

He's going to Oregon. He shares the same trainer as Evan Stewart
