As for depth? I saw a blog post that in practice an unnamed defensive back was getting work at running back. That could be Bussey, Dalton Brooks, Jayvon Thomas, Bravion Rogers. All of which have had backfield experience in hs.

Since they specifically said defensive back that would eliminate Bussey because he has only played offense this year. Brooks and Thomas seem to get too many meaningful downs in games to move one of them.
So my opinion would be Rogers. Either way, unless something else catastrophic happens I don't see this particular role getting much game action.

It'll be what it is and we don't have a say.

We will figure out if the coaches are earning their pay.

Doubt it's brooks given the amount of snaps he plays on defense.

Daniels and AJ with Bussey at times. Those guys get 95% of the snaps. Who is behind that, I hope to never know.

It's hilarious that people forget that Daniels is one of the best RB's in the country and EJ has tons of P4 experience and has looked great when he got a shot. Maybe get Bussy ready but we are kinda already doing that. If you want to worry about injury look at the OL.

I would like to see us utilize EJ more in the passing game. Swing pass out of the backfield. He probably has the best receiving capability along with Moss for RBs. It seems early in the year we were trying to target EJ, but got away from it.

Bussey for jet sweeps. Daniels carries the load.

With how important the running game we need at least 3 RBs. Bussey has been WR but i could see us moving him inside. I'd love to see him and Daniels in a two back set.

Also I'd love to see Myles Davis moved to RB. He has the size and ran 100M and 200M in track.

Plus he did play a little WR in HS

I saw the game. I'm just smart enough to understand that running the ball effectively requires a LOT more than a capable RB. Those guys weren't our problem last week.

We don't have an answer. period.

What we have to hope is that the D somehow fixes itself and has a stellar performance vs. the 'sips, and that CK actually starts to earn his paycheck with some clever scheming to mask our deficiencies.

You need 3 solid RBs prepped each wk w game plans and packages (preferably 4 due to injury). Way more to RB than running the ball and asinine to think 1 will do.

Yes, Daniels will be the main guy, but pass pro, run blocking, carrying out RPO at full speed, etc etc is why one saw Moss/Daniels used a lot up til now.

Elko essentially stated Monday that Bussey not RB option as mainly working thru WR and ST (doesn't mean he won't get jet sweeps via WR position, but an easy read for defense to pre read as we are obvious in that setup…hopefully saving some trickery for tu for typical line up, but different play run).

Think B Rogers is a good guess as top 100 DB (who we almost lost to LSU), but recall played RB quite a bit in HS too (ran for over 1000yds as a Jr in HS).

We need someone who knows how to do the Mr Miagi hand clap trick.

It worked for Daniel, and he got back into the ring to win.

Daniels can step up and be RB1. Obviously that means that EJ has to big time as well.

Moss stepped up big time when Owens went down. I'm optimistic Daniels will do the same. He has shown some awesome flashes this season.

No **** it requires more than a capable RB, I'm not saying it doesn't.
But the fact is they weren't cutting it in the 2nd half, yet they were in the first even after Moss' injury. Can't do the same thing and expect different results in our upcoming games.

Hopefully Daniel's plays lights out. Relying on EJ, other than just to spell Daniel's looks like we are in trouble. He's shown very clearly why he has played so little for 5 years.

EJ just doesn't run mean enough. We are going to have to change up our offense IMO. Add more jet sweeps, short passes close to formation with downfield blocking. Still our offense is going to be limited without Moss. Our defense is going to have to wake up and carry this team

They didn't seem to turn the page in the play book against SC!

There is no good answer. Go with what we have and hope for the best. Really unfortunate situation for our offense.

For all the angst here, I think we can be fine IF Amari steps up his game and the oline doesn't have another game as bad as SC the rest of the year.

If you remember back in 2010, the first half of the season we split between CMike and Cyrus Gray. We were all discouraged to see CMike go down, but it actually ended up being the best thing that could have happened! Cyrus went OFF and we finished the season undefeated until we lost in a bowl to L$U.

Why? Because running back run off of RYTHM. If we had 8 games left, I'd be much more concerned, but with 3 plus any playoff run, I think we'll be alright, if not better off.

Sure, we need more depth, but based off what I've seen, we shouldn't need to play the alternates more than 10 carries a game.

His dad was great but I think his dad is the only reason he is on the field. Hasnt really helped us
