Lots of season left for all including tu and georgia etc.. they are not all guaranteed to win all their games just like we are not as well.

win vs. Auburn, beat the **** out of tu - we are in Atlanta -- doesnt matter what else happens..

those are facts.. no matter who else does what.

Never change, TexAgs.

LOL. We are 7-2 on the year and tied for first in the SEC. People acting like the result of the last game is the only indicator of future performance.

Never change, TexAgs
We are 7-2, but how many "good" games have we played?

The answer is one. Mizzou was the only complete game we've played.

ND - lethargic offense; gave up big plays on D

McNeese - decent offense against a bad team

Florida - Actually, not a bad showing on our part. Allen's long TD reception and Anderson's int return for a TD pretty much ended the game.

BG - Decent run game but meh overall. Gave up 2 big TDs.

Arkansas - Just happy to win. Gave up another big TD reception. Bad passing offense.

Mizzou - Our best total game. Only good passing game of the year.

MSU - A "good" team would have put them away early.

LSU - Lucky to catch them off guard with Reed in the second half. Terribly in the passing game (WRs, Moss w/ some blame here). Gave SC all the game film they needed to stop Reed.

Texas will probably be double digit favorites against Florida (home), Arkansas (away), and Kentucky (home). If Texas wins their next 3 games, they will carry a 10-1 (6-1 SEC) record to Kyle Field and clinched a playoff appearance. Likewise, we have a cupcake home game against New Mexico State after our second bye week, and we will likely be a double-digit road favorite at Auburn. If we win our next two games, we will carry a 9-2 (6-1 SEC) record to Kyle Field.

If we win out, we will clinch our first SEC Championship Game appearance against LSU if LSU wins out. Texas would probably still make the playoffs with a 10-2 (6-2 SEC) record.

Yes

Winner of that game will be in the playoff easily.

We lose and are out. Texas loses, they probably are out or road game first round at best.

tu still has UF, UK, and Arkansas before us. They could still drop one more game prior to Kyle.

Unlikely. Florida will probably play their 3rd string QB - a transfer from Yale that I think joined the team a couple of weeks ago. Arkansas also may be playing their back up QB. And Kentucky is just bad. Probably best chance for horns to drop one is in Fayetteville. Other 2 are at home.

Correct. If the sips win out, they are for sure in. If they only lose to us, they will still be in.

the SEC needs an upset in the B1G in the final month

Ohio State, Penn State, or Indiana taking a surprise loss

otherwise the B1G is tracking to 4 teams...and that might limit the SEC to 3

Probably so:

These spots will get filled:

Notre dame
Highest G5 champ
Sec champ
Big champ
Acc champ
Big12 champ

The hats half the field, leaving 6 at large spots

Have to think Ohio st gets one and probably Penn st

That's 4 left

If byu wins ou but loses to Iowa st in the big12 title game, big12 could get a second team in:

Same with acc if Miami loses to emu in the title game

Also, Indiana could get a spot if their only loss is to Ohio st

That could essentially leave only 2 at large spots for sec teams

It just depends on if the committee values schedule strength or won/loss record more and having balance in the playoff field

Likely but not guaranteed if it would require 5 SEC teams getting in. For instance if Tennessee won out, and Georgia finished with 1-loss. Then it'd be both of them, and A&M and Lsu or Alabama. Or if Georgia lost to Ole Miss, then Ole Miss could replace Tennessee but Georgia still get in with 2-losses over Sips….because 5 SEC teams aren't getting in.

tu is going to be a hard game just like any rivalry game is (see Arkansas), but they have the absolute easiest schedule possible.

They just got super lucky with Florida's qb getting injured and Kentucky is one of the worst teams in the SEC.

I'm really not all that impressed with tu to be honest.
Cojack
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Kentucky is gutted by injuries, Arkansas sucks, we're now 100% one dimensional so they probably win out regrettably

Provided there's just SEC chalk on our end and Texas's end, that game is one of the first playoff games of the year.

Winner goes to the SEC Championship and has a right to go into the CFP.

Loser goes to some weird bowl against Iowa or Minnesota.

Right?

yes necause of course we are going to win that Auburn game....

Why wouldn't we be able to beat Texas?

Kentucky beat Ole Miss (in Oxford) in week 5
Arkansas beat Tennessee in week 6
Vanderbilt beat Alabama in week 6

I don't think any of the above would be less surprising that A&M beating Texas in a likely night game in College Station.
I wouldn't be any more surprised if I woke up in the morning with my head sewn to the carpet........ Clark Griswold

Agree with this. Texas is being slotted high right now assuming they will beat us and play in Sec championship. They can't politic their way into the playoff over the other 2 loss Sec teams. If Mizzou were to win out they would have a better resume then Sip would with a loss to us.

Texas is being slotted high right now so the committee can try and keep them in the top 12 after we whip them.

This is nothing new with them.

If they actually thought they would beat us you don't have to slot them so high now.
