This is exactly right.

Highest PFF graded QB last year, very high on draft boards. Conner is a good QB.

You could point to injury or system, and I think it's a little of that, but I think it's mostly mental. It's like a form of imposter syndrome

I think Conner tried to take a step up as a leader and bought into his own hype, presenting himself as the cool guy. Instead of being an unproven doe-eyed freshman, he's now an experienced future NFL talent getting more and more NIL deals. Ball out against Mizzou? Here's a boot advertisement lmaoooo

It's seems despite how cool he is or how much $$$ is coming his way, he truly lacks the confidence to lead the team. And now that Marcel is hot on his heels and taking things over, Conner must truly doubt his abilities- the same abilities that got him so highly rated the year prior.

He's having an identity crisis
Very possibly could be the motivation he needs. We will all see at some point, whether it's here or if Marcel locks down the starter job for sure it might be somewhere else.

Offensive talent around him has gotten worse every year he has been here

That's going to affect a pocket passer WAYYYY more than someone who can run like Reed. Conner is awesome at getting the ball to playmakers and letting them work. Reed can actually go make a play by himself but is less polished as a passer

In games the talent around him doesn't get overwhelmed, he looks awesome. See the Mizzou game. See Mcneese game. See Miss St game until Bisontis got hurt

It's why he looks awesome against bad to average teams, and sucks against good ones. His game is predicated around getting the ball accurately to playmakers, which outside of Moss (who is now done) we have none

No, CW hasn't shown that he can consistently get the ball to his playmakers. There is plenty of evidence to the contrary. He routinely doesn't progress through his reads, he doesn't recognize the opportunities and misses open receivers, and his accuracy has been inconsistent with and without pressure . I'd love to have the CW we saw during the Missouri game but this appears to be the exception and not the rule.

Almost like playing QB as a pocket passer with no talent around you is hard and wears on you, both mentally and physically

He's gonna transfer to like Oregon with all that WR talent and probably kill it

I'm sure our receivers running around wide open are also thrilled.

I hope he gets some snaps this week.

Honestly, I still think he is our best chance to win next 5 games in a row.

LSU obviously suck at defending running QBs and once they had the running games bottled up they had us right where they wanted.

Connor's biggest problem is between the ears. Against the corn dogs he got happy feet and when he did set his feet he wS throwing Nolan Ryan fast balls. He just needs to trust his protection, this is not Jimbo Offensive line crap.

Any QB coach at this level should be able to slow him down and get production out of him. He has all of the measurables.

Reed has just not shown me to win a game throwing the ball and I think, with Moss out we will have tough sledding.

I think Klein has done an outstanding job this season given what he has, but my one gripe is he struggles to get our QBs easy throws early to get them somewhat comfortable. That goes for both of our QBs

He jinxed himself before the season began when he guaranteed that he'd beat t.u.

Not a doctor and not playing one, but I had one son who played in college and 3 more who played through high school. Have seen more than a little bit of football. Am sure the ags have the best medical staff to be found. A non -medical observation is that it reminds me of a concussion. Now, I know those can show up immediately, but I've observed that they lend themselves to being a series of minor ones over a period of time.
I do not know and am not, under any circumstances, saying that's what's happening, In fact, I do not know. Just a personal observation.

I was hoping the Conner would at least start the game yesterday so the pressure wouldn't be all on Reed.

A. Is he injured?
B. Is he shell shocked from a previous injury?
C. Is he in his own head and can'tget out?

Either way we need him back desperately,

It's the football team in November. How have people forgotten?

September and October are about building up the hype... That A&M is unstoppable... Maybe this is the year!

November is about crushing our dreams.

Let the BAS flow through you... Breathe it in...

You can replace Connor with any 5 star QB. This is what happens.

If Bisontis is healthy and back in the line up, Conner will have time in the pocket. 18/22 for 276 against Mizzou. He can still play.

Well, for better words he "lacks confidence." A starting QBhas to be someone the entire team gets behind. I played college bball so don't give me this "he's just upset because he's competitive crap."

But your leader has to see the example in good times and in rough times. And a guy that is confident would be going straight to Marcel after being notified of the switch to talk to Marcel about what he's seeing with the LSU D. Four different times you can see during the first half WR's upset with CW ok his throws almost getting them killed. And then after the switch, body language is everything and once you lose the team as a starting QB, it's hard to get them back. It's just human nature.

Maybe CW will get another chance to prove me wrong but if the roles had been reversed I don't believe Marcel would have reacted the same way. But that could be due to Marcel being a coaches son. I've coached for 17 years body language or walking away from a coach when they're still talking to you, it's hard to get the team back when they see this.

I think Connor is fed up with football. At least at A&M. The Jimbo experience and then the back and forth he has now would wear anybody out, He needs a new start.

This is how i see it. I feel his passion and drive is gone. He looks underprepared, cant read defenses, slow, and injury prone. All of which werent tangible when he started here.
