What has he turned around? This his the same as every other year

Yeah, you're right. Every other year we sit 5-1 in conference at this point in the season with our destiny in our own hands. Just same old same old.

Uhhh yeah just look back 4 years... forget already?

The year we finished #4 in the country?
But still didn't make the playoffs and still didn't have a shot at a title.

Just like every other year then?
Just looking at last years schedule, if we played the same teams this year, our overall record will be pretty much the same, maybe a tad worse.

Has more to do with the schedule than the team. We lost to Alabama, who was in our division, so we didn't get a shot. This current team isn't better than that one.

Japan will have really won when Germany catches it in GDP in the not too distant future (a couple of links suggest it already has). India passing Japan will just be gilding the lily as far as Japan's big victory.

China has worked out great for Japan too. I bet Japan would like more victories like that.

I agree, This years team is not better than that 2030 team , however it doesn't have to be

There are no teams in the sec this year on the level of that 2020 bama team

Every single one of them has major flaws and can be beaten if you play well

We didn't play well against USCe the other night and now some posters are jumping off the cliff and flushing the entire season when in reality we basically still control our path to Atlanta and playing for our first sec title

That's huge and I fully expect this team to rally and come out playing much better ball for the last 3 games than they did Saturday night

We're still working on year 85 of mediocrity. Don't look for that to change, won't happen ! As I've said for many years now...... we need a HC with a high probability of winning a Natty. If we're serious about EVER winning a Natty, we should hire a professional college football search firm NOW. Let them start their research with a deliverable of 5 HCs, ranked in order by their potential to win a Natty within 3-5 years.

Nothing against Elko, but as I said when we made the hire, he's just another in a long string of mediocre coaching hires. Hires that we've generally tried to make in 2 weeks after we fire the incumbent. We need to stop that cycle. Hire the search firm NOW, and have them give us the results by February 1rst 2025. Then, we start with their top-ranked coach and go out and hire him ! If we can't make a deal, then go to number 2 on their list. Doesn't matter when he gets hired. Next year, and likely 2026 as well, will continue to be mediocre years anyway. Also, keep the BMAs and any other Aggie football "influencers" out of the process ! Stop looking for "fit", "culture", "gets us Aggies", or any other criteria..... just take the list from the Professionals and run with it, beginning with the HC with the highest potential to win a Natty !

The ONLY valid ANNUAL goal for ALL Aggie Sports is a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!

Ridiculous. The definition of BAS.

You are just a tad older than me and still need to grow the F up.

You do know that stress and anxiety kills, right? I am talking decades off your life. Just some friendly advice....take a chill pill and do not take this GAME so seriously.

FYI, Elko is the best coach we have seen as Aggies. He will be HC in 2034 so you should STOP being a Texas A&M football fan as this mediocre HC is here to stay for a long, long time. Promise.

And this statement "just take the list from the Professionals and run with it, beginning with the HC with the highest potential to win a Natty !"????

Makes you look VERY unintelligent.

So it is as easy as hiring the coach with the "high potential to win a Natty!"? Seriously man. SERIOUSLY??? Just idiotic.

Look I get it. I almost went off the deep end 3 years ago with Jimbo. I saw the light. You really need to re-evaluate things emotionally. As your emotionals are not helping on the intellectual side.

This team is definitely the product of what is probably the weakest sec schedule anyone has ever had lol.

One decent win against a solid, not great, LSU team and if we are honest we probably lose that game by 10 points if it's anywhere but Kyle Field.

Anyone who saw the conference schedule should have expected a pretty decent season unless Elko completely **** the bed. Thankfully he hasn't.

But it doesn't tell us much beyond the fact that we've benefited greatly from a weak schedule.

Definitely not anywhere near being a playoff caliber team and that's ok. Elko has done a solid job and shown there's hope for the future despite Saturdays performance.

Why do people keep saying this about the schedule? It just isn't true.

ESPN has A&M with the 17th hardest schedule in the country.

According to Sagarin we have 3 top 30 wins. Our 3 best wins are better than any win by Texas, BYU, Indiana, etc.

Josh Pate has similar results. When we looked at the schedule to start the year it looked manageable but Florida is much better than people thought as was Arkansas before Green got hurt.

Elko hasn't done any kind of amazing turnaround this year, but it's nice we don't **** ourselves every road game (last night notwithstanding) and culture does seem better. I'd say he's gotten the program back to about what its floor should be given the talent accumulated. It's amazing how far below that level Jimbo had been operating at.

Elko or Deboer, who inherited a better team? Who has a better record?
Elko brought in 46 transfers last minute, with lots of them starting on offense and defense and with tons getting significant playing time each week. He has done an incredible job thus far and is on pace to match Jimbos highest win total.
