Not in a Klein offense.

The kid can't be run repeatedly into SEC defenses. He doesn't have the body.

He has to develop into a great passer. It may happen, but not in the next year or so.

This always makes me laugh. Only success the dude was when JFF was our QB.

Fired a Tehc. Fired by Cardinals.
Great OC So-so HC. That happens alot.

This is cute. Another one exposed. Reed is the best freshman qb in the country.

What an idiot.

Reed passed plenty good yesterday. We lost because our offense line got whipped up front. Reed will continue to get better and he will use his legs to buy time and only run when he needs to.

I've heard about this position that some teams make great use of called a Tight End. I think we could use one or two of those.

I'm a little confused on why the narrative is being passed around that Reed can't pass after this game, of all games he's played. I thought this was clearly his best performance from an efficiency standpoint. He also made way more window throws than we have seen from him thus far.

Against Arky and BGSU he most certainly struggled to find receivers and was often overthrowing them to make sure they weren't picked. He moved around a little more in the pocket this time, kept his eyes downfield and tucked it when he needed to.

I think some posters on here don't truly understand how limited we are offensively. Our 3 best receivers are not NFL worthy. I appreciate Noah's jump ball abilities and Jabre's quickness, but we are not really taking the top off of any defense with them. Most of our big plays through the air have been a product of good downfield blocking and pocket protection as opposed to elite athleticism. All of the most prolific passers in college football this year have multiple draftable receivers to throw to.

When you have the receivers like Dillon Gabriel, Cam Ward, and Jaxson Dart have, you don't have to maintain long drives to score. This A&M offense pretty much has to convert 3-4+ 3rd downs a drive to score. We did that well vs. Mizzou/Florida/1st half Miss. State and it resulted in early leads, which in turn, helped our offense maintains its run heavy identity. We don't want our offense to have to play catchup because too many variables have to go right for this current Aggie offense to score consistently and we aren't exactly trotting Michigan's national championship defense out there to cover up our offensive flaws.

CK's quick/short passing game isn't doing either QB any favors against stacked boxes. There should at least be a check to WR screen / hitches or TE delays anytime there's 7/8 in the box. Instead, CK calls IZ or ZR into a brick wall way too often...

Get a QB in the portal. Look at Oregon right now.

The book is out on Reed and Weigman is leaving.

Lol. Reed is a freshman with a first year OC. Y'all need to chill. Reed will only get better.
I'm not sure he'll even start over Longstreet.
Isn't Longstreet still playing in HS this year?????

Some of you guys......geez......

lol I see that this site took down the other QB thread. What a hoot, can't discuss anything they don't like.

Reed is the top freshman QB in the country, and top 15 in QBR out of all QBs

If you want to win you have to have a plan to have developed QBs. Go get one from another program while you are developing the next.

There is no way around it.

When I look at roster I feel better about the future. Lots of juniors that we need to recruit to come back on DL. Given Scourton is a sure fire 1st round pick and has been rated as #1 DE this year, that will be tough. Regis and Stewart need to come back. With that said I think you need:

1 DL
1-2 DE
2 WR (at least 1 difference maker)

Will Lee needs to come back but I bet he will need to be recruited hard.
0-1 CB
01 RB depending on Moss health
1 OL

I don't think we need LB. This defense just isn't LB friendly.

0-1 QB depending on Henderson staying or not.

Elko keeps whiffing on WR recruits and our current group of WR's seem to have an issue with getting separation from our opponents DB's so I'd say we need to pony up and find a couple of capable WR's in the portal for '25.

We also need our OC to adjust and call a better game that features TE's over the middle and more slants by our WR's. One of my favorite plays that works almost all the time is the RPO option in which the QB reads the DE's and the safeties. He pulls the ball outta the RB's belly and throws to quick pass to a receiver running a quick slant or seam route to our TE over the middle.
It's a perfect play to keep the D honest with Reed @ QB and I don't recall Klein using it all all this season.

My point: Adjust the play calling to offset the scheme that our opponents D is trying to take away from us.

Example: They play 8 in the box: play action and throw deep over the middle since the safeties will be playing the run. Corners will be playing not to get beat on the outside. Deep middle will be open if our receivers run good routes.

Elko made the best WR Coach hire possible in Higgins. But when's he gonna act like it?

The reason they stack 8 is because Reed hasn't been able to hit the deep ball with any kind of consistency and until he does somewhat regularly teams are going to stack the box.

Reed is more than capable and can be dynamic. Would be nice if he was 220-235 without losing much speed.

We will add more depth and dynamic guys at LB and WR via portal while developing younger guys.

My biggest concern really is developing an offensive line with depth like we used to. All signs have pointed that we're making strides there.

We need speed at WR. Some true corners and more speed in the secondary. Some real LBs. OL

We basically need help at every position.

We are so much less athletic at every position. I have no idea how we are getting the recruiting grades that we are. We have basically ZERO gamebreakers on offense or defense.
Yeah; all our players suck. It's amazing that we have won any games. We should slap our name on another team and pull for them. (In case you couldn't tell, I was being sarcastic.)

Not sure where your stats came from but I don't think they're correct. This year Reed has 861yds for 7 TDs and 1 INT.

With passing stats like that he better be Lamar Jackson or Johnny Football on the ground for us to call him good or promising, but he's not

I feel obligated to point out that actual Lamar Jackson was good for 12 TDs and 8 Interceptions his freshman season, and about 150 yards a game. He ran for about 6 yards a carry, getting 960 and 11 TDs.

A full season of Reed would be better than that passing and close in the running game.

We don't know what Reed is going to be when he is fully developed, but to say he's not promising is kind of silly

Our number one priority should continue in the direction we're going with Coach Elko. He knows exactly what he's doing and this is his first season. He has made tremendous progress and will continue to do so. He knows what our weaknesses are, and he knows how to fix it.

How long do you want to ignore this user?

They knew they needed a better receiving corps but we were told the TEs would become the passing weapons.
If Smith could return to his freshman rushing statistics that may be enough,

There are many good teams playing with key players injured at this point in the season. Good coaching staffs figure it out.

I think the coaching staff has figured out there are key players injured. Depth is the difference at this point in the season.
